It’s food trip Friday! Are you ready to be enticed once again?
Mexican food is among the few cuisines that the husband, the little one and I all totally agree on. If one of us would like to have Mexican on an eat out, we would all approve of it without further questions.
Last Saturday, the husband decided to give his only daughter (my stepdaughter) a birthday treat. I suggested a few restaurants that we’ve never been to, but the husband wanted to go back to this Mexican restaurant where we celebrated the little one’s birthday two years ago. The restaurant is probably the most popular among the Mexican restaurants in the city. The name? Papa’s and Beer.
One thing that makes them a hit aside from the delicious foods is their style of entertaining a birthday celebrant. The waiters and waitresses serenade the celebrant with a Spanish song (their version of Happy Birthday) then put a sombrero (Spanish for hat) on their head and give them an ice cream treat. My stepdaughter wasn’t given a sombrero that night and we really didn’t know why. Nevertheless, she got her free ice cream. Part of the free ice cream they smeared over her lips giving her a mustache. I think that was good enough; no sombrero necessary.
