Rice…I think I will never last a day without eating rice. LOL. I’ve mellowed down on my intake though since I got here in the U.S. My husband kind of influenced me to eat lightly. I used to have it three to four times a day back in my home country – breakfast, lunch, dinner and sometimes snack. More often than not, we just had it plain or steamed paired with any kind of viand. But from time to time, we like making it extra-special by adding goodies to it. And that’s when a fried rice is born or what we call back home as Sinangag.
Speaking of which, I am sharing with you on this glorious Food Trip Friday the fried rice that I prepared recently. A special fried rice that is delicious yet so easy and quick to prepare.
Fried Rice
Ingredients:
5 cups of “cold” steamed rice
1 head garlic, minced
2 fried scrambled eggs, chopped
1/2 cup cooked bacon, cut into small slices
1/4 cup frozen green peas, thawed
1/4 cooking oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1) Heat cooking oil in a pan
2) Fry garlic until golden brown
3) Add rice and mix for about 5 minutes
4) Add the scrambled eggs, bacon and peas
5) Season with salt and pepper
6) Serve hot
My hubby is not much of a rice person which is acceptable since the staple side food in his diet is potato. But he does love my fried rice. He loves it so much that he actually asked me to prepare some for his Thanksgiving dinner at work a couple of weeks ago to share with his colleagues. Sweet!
What’s your take on rice? I’d love to know. (“,)

I love to eat fried rice! I’m not very good at making it though so I usually go to BoJangles and get it. This looks good though I may give it a try!
I didn’t know BoJangles serves fried rice. We only get chicken all the time. I have to try it. (“,)
