Happy Friday, friends! It’s Friday so it’s time for us to eat celebrate. Don’t we all feel like celebrating when it’s Friday? I do because I always look forward to the weekend where I spend quality time with my two boys, namely my husband and son.
And speaking of celebrating, the husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary yesterday. I did mention before about February being the most celebrated month in this household, and our anniversary is the first one that comes among the three celebrations. Do you remember about the anniversary gifts for her wish list that I posted? Well, I didn’t get any of those. But guess what? I got something much much better which I totally did not expect. I’ll probably blog about it soon. Probably. (“,)
Anyway, together with our chaperone (our son), the hubs surprised me with dinner at an Italian restaurant. He never told me where he was taking me nor what kind of cuisine we’d have.
The place is called Chiesa or Italian for church. It is located in a nice neighborhood here in the city and I think the restaurant is relatively new because I’ve never heard of it before. Actually, the hubs didn’t know about it either until he came across it when he searched on Bing for Italian restaurants in the city. He’s a big fan of Italian food and I salute him for last night. He really did a great job in choosing the place. The food was really good and the ambiance is something that I really liked. The service was excellent too. Needless to say, it was a perfect anniversary dinner for us. And you know me, I always take photos of what we ordered to share here on the blog. Pardon the images though. I only used my iPhone to take these.
The little one enjoyed his meal so much. How could he not? He loves sausage! The serving was too big for him though so we brought home the rest.
A different kind of pot pie. You were probably thinking of seeing a traditional pot pie in a crust but the name totally speaks for itself. Like my son, I only ate half of it. And the other half I had for lunch today. Yum!
Only the hubs was able to finish and had a clean plate. He is a big eater. I think most men are like that, aren’t they? If you notice, my husband is a slim man so you would wonder where did all the food go. LOL. But I love how hearty a eater he is.
How do you celebrate your anniversary?

I saw that sausage dish and thought….mmmm, yummm. Then I saw the lobster and shrimp. I’m getting hungry just seeing the pictures. Thank you for sharing.

The food in your post looks AMAZING! I wish I could snatch it off the screen and take a big bite! xoxo
LOL. I wish I could have a bite now too actually.
I love Italian food. It’s probably one of my favorites. I usually go out to eat for my anniversary and sometimes go to a movie. Great way to spend the day with your loved one.
I know, right? Going to a movie is definitely great too. (“,)
I so love that soup and dessert – because that’s probably all I could eat – there is soooo much good looking food here! What fun you had – thanks for sharing
We all had fun. And thank you for dropping by, Donna. (“,)
Oh wow, all of these dishes look incredible! I’m normally not a huge fan of sausage and peppers but the hickory nut gap sweet sausage and peppers looks quite tasty!
It sure was. Our son enjoyed it so much. (“,)
The food looks very delicious! Thanks for making this post! It inspires me somehow!
You’re welcome! (“,)
I don’t think I have ever eating an Italian dish I didn’t like. I think it is interesting that the restaurants name in Italian means church. I wonder why they would name it that. All of the food looks amazing, especially dessert 😉
The food were amazing. The restaurant used to be a church, that’s why. (“,)
Everything looks good to me. A big Happy Anniversary to you!
Thank you! (“,)
I never really had sausage on pasta until recently and it was delicious. I need to do it more!
Our son enjoyed it. He can be picky so without a doubt, it was really delicious because it satisfied his taste buds. (“,)
