As always, Hubby did not disappoint with regards to my Mother’s Day dinner treat. With the connivance of our son, Yogi, they made Mother’s Day extra-especial for me once again. My day was full of surprises from the moment I set my eyes on the cards that they gave me, to the dinner that the two of them secretly planned. I didn’t know where we were going to eat, and I was more that elated when I finally figured where they were taking me.
Hubby chose to take me to Outback Steakhouse. Thus my title to this post, speaking that cute Aussie talk. It was our first time as a family to go there and eat dinner. Hubby had been to the place a few times before, and we’ve talked about going there, but never got the chance until that night. He surely made a great choice on that one because let me tell you, the food was SUPERB!!! I really had to capitalize the word for emphasis. 😉
The Bloomin’ Onion was remarkably delicious. So much that even the little one who is so picky when it comes to vegetables ate a lot. It was really super duper yummylicious!!! No wonder it is a hit.
It was the first time that I’ve seen that dark of a bread at a restaurant. Just like the Bloomin Onion, it’s an Outback Steakhouse original. And I love their way of serving it on a chopping board – so nice and unique!
Here’s my dinner. I haven’t had lobster in a while so it was gone before I knew it. LOL. And of course, I chose seasoned rice as my side dish. I had to share my well-done sirloin filet with the hubs because there was no room for more of it in my little tummy.
Hubby’s dinner. This was supposed to be served with broccoli, but he is not a big fan of it so he added a little extra and had asparagus instead.
Our son, Yogi’s kiddie meal. We were surprised of how big the ribs were for a kiddie meal. He didn’t eat it all so I had the leftovers for lunch the following day. Yum!
I am rating that dinner a FIVE STAR! From the food and service to the ambiance, it was a TWO THUMBS UP! If I could add another thumb or two there, I would. I can’t wait to go back! For now, I will just dream of eating a plate of Bloomin’ Onion. Can I add some lobster tail too? 😉

I remember the first time I went to the Outback in Florida, I fell in love with the place. It was a good 5 year or more before they finally made their way here to MA, but we go all the time.

I’m a sucker for the Outback. It has been ages since I have eaten there but I love the ribs and chicken plate. YUM! Sadly, I am not a fan of the blooming onion though. Deep fried onion just makes no sense to me. LOL
