Happy Friday!
Time for another food post in our neck of the woods. And like I said on my Fourth of July Celebration in Asheville, North Carolina post on Monday, I am going to share what we filled our tummies with while waiting for the fireworks display and while listening to good music at the park.
There were a lot of food trucks and food booths to choose from, but I decided on one thing as soon as I saw it. I knew that was what I was going to have without any second thoughts.
I’ve shared this picture on that post on Monday and the hint was right there. I had a funnel cake! Yum!
It was only the second time that I had funnel cake. The first time I had it was when we went to the Fall Festival last year at a nearby town. I totally enjoyed the funnel cake the first time so I was really delighted when I saw it at the park on the Fourth of July. I shared it with the hubs and our son though because as usual, it was too much for my little tummy. But they helped me as soon as they were done with their first choices which, of course, was, hotdogs! So they had the food, and I had the dessert.
Our son, Yogi had hotdog with ketchup and mustard. This is one of his favorites and he could have it every single day and maybe three times a day.
Hubby had hotdog with mustard, chili and onions. I had to put that cute smiley there for a reason. Do you want to guess why? LOL.
Talking about the funnel cake is making me crave for more. Too bad we can only have it at festivals. Why is that though? Wish they had a store here somewhere that sells funnel cakes on a daily basis. I would have gone there already and got me some more. Maybe my next endeavor should be to learn how to make them at home. If I do so, I’ll certainly share the results with you here. Wish me luck.

Funnel cakes are so yummy! I could eat them daily! Did your son smash his nail? I can’t figure out why else lol.

Christy, that’s my husband’s finger. LOL. And no, he didn’t smash his nail. 😉
Funnels cakes are the best! We live in Georgia, and down here, that’s the go-to food at any sort of event.
I love visiting Asheville. Somehow hotdogs and funnel cakes always taste better at a festival or ballpark. My husband was at a convention at The Grove Park Inn last month. I did not get to go, and I was so jealous.
Funnel cakes are my biggest food necessity at festivals and carnivals. I am a fried dough loving gal. It is my 1 food splurge when we go to fests.
We live in Asheville and love going downtown for special events! The funnel cakes are delicious and the atmosphere is so much fun!
Oh, hi neighbor! 😉 So delighted to know that you also live in Asheville. Maybe we’ll bump into each other one of these days. 🙂
Funnel cake is so delicious, but who doesn’t love fried batter covered in powered sugar?! Those hotdogs look delicious too! My husband and son would have been all over them!
I can’t even remember the last time I had carneval food! I used to love it although now I have so many intolerances I don’t think I could even eat a bite!
I really enjoyed your post today! I love hot dogs and funnel cakes! Fireworks are my favorites things and wish I could photograph them better!
How I wish I could photograph the fireworks better myself. Love seeing those gorgeous photographs of fireworks online. 🙂
I am guessing he forgot to cut his nails? Looks like you had fun at the festival. The funnel cake and the hotdog sandwiches look delicious.
Hmmm, you’re close. LOL.
I’ll oass fir the hotdogs but would love a hunk of that funnerl cake. We love funnel cakes when we go to festivals.
That hot dog looks so amazing right now. Yum. I’ve never in my life had FUNNEL cake. I feel like I’m missing a whole lot of goodness!
YUM! What a great order of things where you were able to enjoy your desert before you dinner.
Maybe your finger was spilled with the condiment of the hotdog? Or your nail polish has gone bad? Haha I want to know and am curious about the smiley face. 🙂
Roch, that’s my husband’s finger. LOL. And nope, your guesses are wrong. Nice try though. 🙂 This is too funny!
Look at that funnel cake! That’s a real yummy mess. I haven’t had one of those in a while. Now I have a craving for one!
Believe it or not, I have never had a funnel cake before. I have heard that they’re really good, though!
They’re absolutely delish! You should try it!
It has been a long time since I’ve had a funnel cake. I wanted one at our festival on the 4th but they didn’t have any. We packed our dinner to take to the park.
My big kids love hot dogs. They love funnel cakes too (and so does my mom!).
I only get funnel cakes when I’m at the beach or an amusement park. They do sell the batter at the store so you can make them at home.
Thanks for the info, Mimi. I’m so glad to know that they sell the batter at the store. I will certainly check it out soon!
I have not had a funnel cake in years. I love to go and watch fireworks. Sounds like you had a fantastic day.
Now I need to try out these funnel cakes, look so delicious! Looks like you had a great time. I enjoy watching firecrackers celebration on 4 July!
I want a chili dog now. And a funnel cake. I’m good on fireworks though. You always look like you’re having a blast.
Dirty nails? Lol, just a guess. I really want a hot dog and funnel cake now. i haven’t had carnival food in a while and it sounds great right now!
the funnel cake really looks interesting but i have yet to taste it. do share it when you finally make some at home, who knows we can also try making some 🙂
