We still have a week to go before fall finally gets here, but fall is definitely in the air now. Many of the leaves have started falling, some of which already started changing colors and the temperature is starting to get a little chilly. I’ve been here in the U.S. for almost five years now and I must say, fall is definitely my favorite season of all. And the fact that it was fall when we first set our foot in the U.S. soil is just an additional reason.
We don’t have fall where I came from which is a tropical country so more than anything, I love activities that we get to enjoy during the fall season.
Here’s a list of fun family fall activities that we’ve enjoyed over the last few years that I believe every family would find fun and enjoyable too.
1) TAKE A SCENIC DRIVE
One of the best things about fall is definitely the beautiful and breathtaking colorful foliage. And one of the most popular scenic drives in the country is the Blue Ridge Parkway where we got to enjoy in our first fall in 2011.
2) VISIT A PUMPKIN PATCH
Gotta love the vast amount of pumpkins scattered on the ground.
3) GO THROUGH (OR GET LOST) IN A CORN MAZE
We’ve done this twice already and we did get lost in our first corn maze experience and that actually made it more fun!
4) CARVE JACK-O-LANTERNS
Nothing is more fun than seeing how cute your jack-o-lanterns are whether they were perfectly carved or not.
5) GO APPLE PICKING
We’ve done it for the first time last year and it was not only a fun experience, but an eye-opening experience as well.
6) ATTEND A FALL FESTIVAL
Fall festivals are always fun to go to with music, food and all.
7) WATCH A KIDS’ SOCCER GAME
It is fun to watch kids play and do their best in this enjoyable sport. This is our son’s 3rd season in Fall soccer and they are going to have their first game this weekend. We’re excited!
8) DONATE TO A LOCAL FOOD BANK
It feels good when you know you have helped and shared your blessings even in the smallest or simplest way possible.
9) DECORATE FOR HALLOWEEN
Our house didn’t look like a haunted house with our simple decor, but it still felt like Halloween and that was good enough.
10) GO TRICK-OR-TREATING
This is the time of the year where you get a lot of free candies, not to mention, you get to see a lot of cool costumes from kids and adults alike.
There are a lot of things to do and enjoy during the fall season and I am thinking of making a bucket list for us to do this year. Then I could add more to our growing list of fun family fall activities.

We went apple picking yesterday! We have a fall festival coming up next weekend and then we will be hitting a corn maze sometime soon!
I can’t wait to go trick or treating! I love going with the kids! We have a fall festival at my son’s school that is a lot go fun to check out to!! I like all the other ideas you have here too!
We love to go on hayrides during the fall. The best are the haunted hayrides around Halloween.

I love fall – I’d add camping to this list. The air is a little more brisk, but the crowds are mostly gone and so are the bugs!

I would love to be able to do all of these with my family, unfortunately I live in a part of Texas, where most of these are hard to come by. However, when I get my family to Colorado, I am going to give them the Fall experience of a lifetime!

Firstly, I LOVED Band of Brothers! Secondly, these are some great ideas to do with the family…although the corn maze option freaks me out (I watched Children of the Corn way too many times when I was younger, lol!).
We love pumpkin patch days and haunted houses. Hay rides are fun too.
