After writing about the 10 Fun Family Fall Activities that we’ve enjoyed in the past years, I’ve realized that there are more that we could enjoy during the fall season that we haven’t done yet. It’s all over the internet and the list is a mile wide long. I’m actually surprised and amused that how come we’ve never thought about doing some of them. So, I’ve decided to create me a family bucket list for fall from the awesome ideas that I’ve collected from the world wide web and hopefully, we will be able to do them. If not all, then at least some.
Here you go. Our family bucket list for fall.
1) LEAF JUMPING
We have a bunch of trees in our yard and raking them every year was fun and tiring at the same time. I think, it could have been more fun and less tiring if we’ve thought of playing with them after raking.
2) RUB A TREE
I’ve done bark tree rubbing when I was little and with all these trees in our yard, how come I’ve never thought of it? I know it was fun doing it when I was young. So I have no doubt my son would enjoy it too.
3) GO FOR A WALK
We’re not into hiking or walking, but we do love nature. And I think with the beautiful fall colors, it is definitely the best time to go for a walk and enjoy the beauty of the surroundings to the fullest.
4) MAKE AN APPLE PIE
I’ve eaten apple pie a few times, but I’ve never tried baking one myself. I’ve been telling the husband about it, and I hope I get to do it this year.
5) MAKE A BIG POT OF CHILI
The husband is the one who’s in charge when it comes to cooking the chili, but he always prepares a small amount because there’s only the three of us. I’ve shared his mom’s recipe HERE. And I think it will be fine if he’ll make a big pot that could last us a week or so. 🙂
6) HAVE A PICNIC
Can you believe that we haven’t tried having a picnic yet? What can I say? My husband is not much of a “picnic person”. But I guess he couldn’t say no anymore once everything is all set and good to go.
7) PLAN A NATURE SCAVENGER HUNT
I’ve been reading a lot about scavenger hunts lately and it really sounds fun. I can’t wait to do it with my boys.
8) ROAST PUMPKIN SEEDS
I can’t remember the last time I was munching on pumpkin seeds. I used to do it a lot back in my home country. Almost every night, my mom would buy us a bag and we’d munch on it while watching TV. Nom!
9) MAKE TRAIL MIX WITH CANDY CORN
We love trail mix and we love candy corn, but we surely never thought of mixing them together. Sounds delicious!
10) GO TO A HAUNTED HOUSE
Okay, I am such a scaredy cat so I think I will leave this one to my boys. They would be excited to go, without a doubt. Wherever my boys are happy, I’m happy too. Besides, I can wait for them at the door, can’t I? Then again, I don’t think I would even have the guts to stand outside the door of a haunted house. Hee-hee.
What are you up to this fall?
Robin (Masshole Mommy) says
My kids are only 8 & 11, so they are MUCH too young for a haunted house, but my hubby and I will hit up a few this October! We love that kind of stuff.
Savannah Miller says
We have an annual fall camp fire :). Fall is the best time to do this since it is cooler at night everyone crowd around the fire to keep warm. My dad always tells some far fetched store and of course we make smores 🙂
Stacie @ Divine Lifestyle says
We love to play in the leaves when they fall, and haunted houses are such a big hit with us. I love these!
Jeanette says
What a great idea to do a nature scavenger hunt! I never thought about doing that when we hike. We are going on a hike a few weeks from now and we will be doing this!

I want to make a Fall bucket list too, sounds like fun, thanks for the idea 🙂

This sounds like my list for fall! I love everything on your list and I can’t wait to get started!

I’ve actually made myself a bucket list for the fall with my family too!! I have something planned for every weekend!
Liz Mays says
These are great ideas! Now I’m even more excited for Fall. Maybe I’ll even brave a haunted house this year.
Camile says
My four year old would love all of these but the haunted house. I am definitely going to keep this list handy. The one thing we are guaranteed to do this fall is go apple picking and then my husband will make an apple pie with the apples we pick.

Those are fun activities to do in the fall. I have not gone leaf jumping in such a long time! I have the same feeling regarding the haunted house visit. I always want to leave those ghosts to mind their own business.
Lynndee says
Yup, we’ll leave those ghosts to mind their own business. LOL. Too funny!
My bucket list : (1) Taking more family photos (2) apple picking (3) wear scary halloween costumes (4) picnic (5) more road trips
Love all of this! I need to do a bucket list for our family. I really want to go apple picking but with us not driving, it can be so hard.
Go to a haunted house is always on my fall bucket list!! I love them even though they scare me to death!! HA!!
My grandparents lived on a huge hill and every fall, all of us kids would rake all the leaves down to the bottom and then roll down the hill into the leaves. So. Much. Fun!!!
That definitely sounds like a lot of fun, Jenni. 🙂
This is a great bucket list. I will have to make one for the winter. It will be fun to do some new things.
I will be roasting the sqush seeds from my acorn squash. I would love to make an apple pie.
These are all fun ideas. I wish I could go apple picking, pumpkin patch, or something else fun with my kids.
I like your list because it’s simple enough that I can actually do it! 🙂 I love the idea of a simmering pot of chili or a warm baked apple pie. Now if only the weather would cooperate here. It’s still hot!
Hope to see the recaps as you go checking each one off, make a vine of the ‘leaf jumping’ please! 🙂
Tracy, I’ve seen a few vine videos, but I’ve never tried making one. We’ll see. 🙂
Our older boy has already gone to a haunted house this season…. $30 each to get in. Yikes! He and his friends loved it.
I love the idea of jumping in a pile of leaves. Out little ones would love that.
Yikes indeed! I didn’t know it would cost that much. I hope we get to find one that is much much cheaper. 🙂
I love your list! Making a big pot of chili is something we do as well each Fall when it is starting to cool down.
This is a wonderful list. I plan to do a lot of these with my girls as well. I’m hoping to make some chili soon because it sure is getting cold here in Wisconsin.
Omg what a great bucket list!!!!! Chili is always on my fall bucket list and proud to say I’ve already knocked it off my list!
Wonderful list! I always enjoy going for walks anytime of the year, but fall is my absolute favorite time of year to go walking. 🙂
Love all these! I’m putting chili on next week’s menu. Perfect for fall 🙂
I want to do everything on your list! Fall is definitely my favourite season! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I wish we could do more Fallish type events but living in Florida they are very few and far between. no leaves to jump in here 🙁
Ahhh so much to do! Some we can’t do because we have little ones that would be freaked by a haunted house, but I will be putting some ideas down in my organizer.
