I’ve been wanting to taste brussels sprouts for a while now and I finally was able to make it happen over the weekend. Yup, that was my first taste of this vegetable. I’m not sure if we had them back in my home country, but I never saw any in the grocery stores. I remember asking the hubs before what they tasted like, but I hadn’t thought of the best dish to pair them with so I never got around to preparing them. When the hubs decided to grill steaks over the weekend, I figured that was the perfect time for the roasted brussels sprouts to grace our dinner as side dish.
I only had one person in mind when I thought of checking for roasted brussels sprouts recipe online…Ina Garten. She is one of the few Chefs that I love and I watch her show, Barefoot Contessa on Food Network as much as I can. With her soft-spoken voice and ease in preparing food, it’s like I’m watching my mom cooking in the kitchen. I even wished sometimes while watching her show that I was one of those people that she prepared the food for. How lucky can those people be? They get to taste her delicious dishes! I know I can always copy her recipe here at home, but wouldn’t it be nice to daydream once in a while that Ina Garten is actually cooking for me? As in, right in front of me! That would be totally amazing! 🙂
They were not burned, okay? They do looked like they got burned, but they weren’t and they were really good. Yum!
You can find the recipe for Ina Garten’s Roasted Brussels Sprouts on the Food Network’s website HERE. Or you probably already have tried her recipe before. Have you?

I have never been a fan of this veggie. My friends keep convincing me that they start great with lots of cheese and butter, but that sort of defeats foe purpose I think. These look great though, so maybe I will try again!

Okay, is it brussel sprout week? I’ve been reading so many brussel sprout recipes, I think it is time I try one! We love roasted broccoli, we toss the broccoli with olive oil, garlic, and a bit of salt, and roast it! I bet the brussel sprouts won’t be half bad like that!

I am the only one in my family who likes Brussels sprouts. I normally don’t make them and only eat them when we go out. But I am going to have to try for sure.
