It always amuses me whenever I discover what “day” today is or what we are celebrating for the day. We don’t have this thing in my home country so it never fails to amuse me. And often times, I learne about this celebrations on Instagram. I didn’t make a big deal out of those celebrations until that day when it was the day to celebrate one of my favorites, pancakes, also known as flapjacks or hotcakes.
Prior to knowing the National Pancake Day on September 26, I had been thinking about pancakes. I was craving for them that week. But I don’t want to cook. I wanted to go to IHOP and eat there. So knowing about the National Pancake Day was a delight to me. I was like, “Perfect timing! Let’s go celebrate! ” 😉
So we did! There’s my delicious pancakes with butter on top. Among the many different syrups that they’ve got, I had the butter pecan. But we not only ordered pancakes. There had to be something more.
I also had this Tuscan Omelet with hash browns. The Tuscan Omelet was so good I checked for Tuscan Omelet recipes online and recreated it here at home.
There’s my boy with his cheese toast and fries. This boy loves those so much, he could have them everyday.
And the little one’s ice cream sundae. I did have a bite of this. I couldn’t resist after seeing those chocolate chips on top.
It was an impromptu trip and the husband just had his lunch at home so he only ordered coffee. Both our son and I opted for a glass of orange juice as we usually choose to have whenever we eat out.
How about you? Did you also celebrate the National Pancake Day?
