Happy spring, y’all!
I know I’m not the only one who looks forward to the first day of spring here in the northern hemisphere. But it was ironic how our first day of spring was yesterday, temperature wise. We had spring-like weather last week, and all of sudden, it plummeted back again to the 40’s yesterday, right on the first day of spring. And it is still chilly today with only highs in the 50’s. Nonetheless, it can’t be denied that spring is finally here. And these gorgeous blooms are the absolute proof.
We were out and about on Friday afternoon and I was delighted to see those trees everywhere in the city once again showcasing their beautiful white blooms. I always look forward to this time of year because these beauties never fail to delight me. Me and my love for flowers. I took this photo while inside the car and while we stopped because of the red light. Perfect timing!
I was thinking to tour the city and take photos for another blog post. If the weather will cooperate this week, I’ll grab my DSLR and tag my hubby along to join me. Well, basing on the forecast, it looks like we are going to have some nice and sunny days this week. I just hope it won’t change. You do know how unpredictable the weather can be. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to accomplish my plan.
Here in North Carolina, daffodils start to sprout as early as February. And by the first week of March, they had already reached their full bloom. And when spring begins technically, their flowers are already gone. But seeing their blooms definitely bring me joy because it only means one thing: winter is almost over and spring is on the horizon. 🙂
I can’t wait to see the rest of my flowers’ bloom. I’m already seeing some flower buds on my azaleas as well as my creeping phlox, and before I know it, they will be showing their beautiful flowers as well. And of course, not to forget the beautiful purple hostas.
How was your first day of spring?

Our flowers started to bloom here, too, but then it snowed today so they are probably going to die. Sigh. Mother Nature tricked us.

I love spring because it’s so pretty. I just don’t care for the pollen glaze on everything. Your flowers are beautiful. I want to plant tulips but I don’t know how well they would do in Texas.

Just gorgeous! Spring is coming extra early this year, so our flowers are also blooming. It’s been lovely for walks & just sitting on my porch with a cup of coffee.

I wanted daffodils for my vow renewal so badly but they were out of season in June. And no other country transports them to the US out of our own season. Your pictures are beautiful.

I’m so jealous of you! Here in Idaho, winter definitely hasn’t left us yet. Some of the hardiest plants are coming back to life, but it will be a few more weeks before we have color. In fact, we had a winter storm advisory just today!
