We now have a teen! I can’t help but exclaim that because I still can’t believe that our only son is now 13. Honestly, it really feels like we just celebrated his 12th birthday a few months ago. It surely didn’t feel like it had already been a year since then. Time flies when we’re having fun!
He turned 13 last week and aside from a special birthday gift which he was overjoyed to see because he’s been wanting it for months now, we also took him for a birthday dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse. But before both the hubs and decided that we’re going to eat there, I had to check their menu because of the birthday boy’s special request – the restaurant should have calamari, his all-time favorite.
Longhorn Steakhouse has a special spot in my heart because it was where I celebrated my first birthday here in the U.S. back in 2011. It had been five years, but I’ll never forget the first impressions that I’ve had for the restaurant. I love the ambiance, the service and of course the food. And after five years, it hasn’t changed. I love the place and we all enjoyed our food. As usual though, we had to request for doggie boxes because their servings were more than our tummies could handle. 😉

Sweet Chili Calamari
The queen of the table in our son’s eyes. Their calamari is different than what we’ve had before because it has chili and it was really spicy for my taste. But both my husband and son love spicy food so it was gone in minutes. I think I only had two bites out of it. 🙂

Renegade Sirloin and Redrock Grilled Shrimp with Sauteed Mushrooms
This is what I had and it was super delicious. I will try to recreate the sauteed mushrooms one of these days.
The birthday boy had steak and french fries as his side dish…of course. 🙂
I didn’t get the chance to take photos of the husband’s meal because he was already eating before I could even take a photo; I surely didn’t want to disturb him. 😉 He had Ribeye Steak and Loaded Idaho Baked Potato.
That was really a great night with superb food. Totally fit for our special teen’s birthday. 🙂

Sounds like a good meal to me. My 11 year old would probably like it, but my 8 year old not so much 🙂 He’s my picky eater.

Longhorn was always our go to steak place growing up! They have delicious food and the prices are good too. I am very disappointed that they do not have one closer to where I live now, but I enjoy going when I am visiting family.

Their food looks great! I asked my husband about going here for our anniversary, but he said he’d rather try Outback Steakhouse.
