Happy Food Trip Friday!
Sharing this food trip to an Italian restaurant which happened a few weeks ago might be a little late, but on second thought, nothing is late when it comes to sharing good stuff or I should say, good food. đŸ˜‰
This was my Father’s Day treat to the hubs. After we all watched a movie of our fave superheroes, the X-Men, I gave him a dinner treat. A dinner treat that he deserved for being such a supportive and good Dad to our son. He’s a huge fan of Italian food and this restaurant was simply the perfect choice. Can you imagine his grinning face as soon as he entered the restaurant? đŸ˜€
Located right outside our favorite movie theater, Regal Biltmore Grande Stadium at Biltmore Park Town Square, Travinia Italian Kitchen and Wine Bar looks so fancy, but the prices on their menu weren’t bad at all.
Just a few bites of bread for me because I didn’t want to ruin my dinner. The hubs almost always indulges in bread. He’s got the appetite!
Oh boy! How delighted was the little kiddo after seeing his all-time favorite appetizer on the menu?! It had spicy and sweet peppers, pepperoncinis (not sure what that is), garlic butter and scallions in it. And would you believe he ordered two servings of this? Yes, he did! No entree’ for him. Just two plates of this crispy calamari.
And just as the little one was delighted to see the calamari, I was more than delighted to see this Pork Belly dish on the menu as well. You see, pork belly is common in my home country of the Philippines, but it’s not available in the supermarkets here. That said, I’ve not had pork belly for more than five years until that day. We love it grilled back home seasoned with just salt and pepper. This one was braised and had caramelized pearl onions and salsa verde in it. So delish!
For the pasta lover in him, he chose this Lasagna Bolognese. It had weal, pork & beef bolognese sauce, ricotta, provolone and parmesan.
For my love of seafood, this was my entree’. Can you tell how huge their servings were? It had cremini mushrooms, spinach, toasted pine nuts, lemon butter and cappellini. As usual, I had to ask for a to-go box and I had the leftovers for lunch the following day. It was so good!
Do you love Italian food?

Aside from the pork, I would have devoured every bit of that. I wouldn’t have been able to resist the bread, though. I usually end up having to take most of my actual meal home for that very reason, lol.
