Happy Monday! How was your weekend?
School starts next week meaning this week is our kiddo’s last week of summer vacation. Summer surely went by so quick, but we surely enjoyed the most of it. We got to go on a road trip to Atlanta and enjoyed some time with family. If you’re not new here, you already know that we love going on road trips and checking out and exploring new places. Now if only we could do more of it. But like they say…slowly but surely.
We still have a lot of places that we have yet to visit as family and would love to visit one of these days. So today, I’m sharing those places that we can’t wait to explore. Here’s our bucket list of the cities that we want to visit here in the U.S.
1. NEW YORK, NEW YORK
Other than wanting to see the world’s famous landmark, the Statue of Liberty, it’s also been a dream of mine to visit New York City during Christmastime. I’ve seen a lot photos of the beautiful Christmas decor all over the city and I can’t wait to see it myself. Hubby has been to New York a few times so if things will go as planned, it will be our first time to visit the Big Apple as family before the year ends. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
2. CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
Hubby is a huge baseball fan. You already know that if you’ve been a constant visitor of this blog because he has blogged about baseball especially his favorite team, the Atlanta Braves, many times in the past. But although he is a fan of the Braves, he also has this dream of visiting famous baseball parks in the U.S. and Wriggley Field in Chicago is one of them.
I’m a fan of the Braves now too. He surely had contaminated me. He is contagious you know. 🙂 And I am more than willing to go with him anytime to check those ballparks together with our little kiddo. And I would love to see the Bean too!
3. CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA
Ive seen photos of how charming Charleston is. And being voted as number one on the best cities in the U.S. on Travel and Leisure’s World Best Awards, there’s no question why it’s on our list.
4. PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA
Philadelphia is the birthplace of the United States of America; the Declaration of Independence was signed here and the history buff that the hubs is, he wants to see where it took place. Both the little kiddo and I would love to see it too.
5. BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS
And now, more baseball. Fenway Park in Boston is the other ballpark that the hubs so wants to see and watch a game at. He wants so bad to see the ‘Green Monster’ for himself. You know that big green wall at their ballpark. Such a fun name. And Fenway Park is the oldest baseball stadium in baseball, built in 1912, just two years earlier than the aforementioned Wriggly Field in Chicago.
Boston is also home of the USS Constitution, a wooden-hulled three-masted heavy frigate, named in honor of the United States Constitution by George Washington, and later on nicknamed “Old Ironsides” after her famous battle with the British HMS Guerriere during the War of 1812. At 219 years of age, theConstitution is the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world, manned by active duty officers and crew of the U.S. Navy.
6. SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA
The Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, Fisherman’s Wharf…just some of the places that we want to visit in San Fran and I know there’s a lot more to do and see there. Of course, the chocoholic in me won’t miss visiting Ghirardelli Square for the world. And we have friends there too that we would love to see and catch up with.
7. SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS
My husband is so into history and he wants to see the Alamo in person. I’m not as much into history like him, but I would be very glad to see it too and learn its history.
8. NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA
I’ve been binge watching the show ‘The Originals’ on Netflix which is the spin-off of the TV series, ‘The Vampire Diaries’ which I’ve also binge watched before. The setting of the show is in New Orleans. That said, I have to admit that it is one of the reasons why I want to go to New Orleans other than being able to see and experience the Mardi Gras in person.
9. SAVANNAH, GEORGIA
My sister-in-law and my brother-in-law have been to Savannah many times and my SIL highly recommends it. As she said, Savannah is full of history and the historic downtown is beaming with beauty.
10. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
Our university’s biennial alumni reunion is going to be held in Las Vegas next year. The last time we joined them was in Washington, D.C. in 2011. It would be nice to join them and see everyone of my fellow Notre Dameans from General Santos City, Philippines, again.
How about you? Do you have a bucket list of cities that you want to visit in the U.S.?
Jeanette says
I have a couple of these on my bucket list also. I usually am more interested in international travel I’m not sure why, but it always intrigued me. There is quite a number of things in the United States that I want to see too, mostly national parks.

Luckily, I’ve visited four of the 10 so far and hopefully, I’ll get to Philly next year. Of all of them, Charleston is my favorite. You must visit Chef Bob Wagner’s demo kitchen when you go. It’s awesome.

You have given me some great ideas for places to vacation in United States. I think Chicago will go to the top of my list but I better plan to do it in the spring as I think it will be getting quite chilly soon. I hope you enjoy your last week before school begins.

Charleston, South Carolina is one of the places that I’d love to visit someday. I’ve never been to New York before, but I’ll be visiting for the first time next spring… alone. I’m excited, yet scared at the same time since this will be my first time traveling alone!

San Antonio is a gorgeous place to visit, we had a great time out there. I think the best time to visit there is Fall and Spring so it’s not hot. We went during the summer and it was so hot!
