Happy Food Trip Friday!
As an Asian, one of the many things that makes me happy when it comes to food is Chinese. And being away from my home country where I miss my native food so bad, I have to have a dose of Asian food from time to time to satisfy my cravings.
Now that the Holidays are upon us, the hubs and I have been out and about many times during the weekdays shopping for gifts. We always do it this way – shopping even before Thanksgiving – so we won’t crunch. We are not the type who does it at the last minute. I think it would make us both cranky. 🙂 We also choose to do the shopping while the little one is in school because he certainly is not fond of shopping at all. He’d rather stay home.
Anywho, with shopping comes eating as well. I think I am not the only one who gets hungry while shopping, am I? So while we were at the mall, we decided not to go further and dined at the Chinese restaurant called Wild Wok. We’d passed by this restaurant many times before, but we hadn’t had the urge to sample their food. There are a lot of Chinese restaurants in Asheville and we have our favorites although we love to check new restaurants that offer different cuisines whenever we go out.
The restaurant did not disappoint. Glad we finally decided to eat there. What took us forever? 🙂
Both the husband and I had spring rolls for appetizers.
This is one of my most favorite Chinese dishes ever – Beef with Broccoli and fried rice. As usual, their serving was big so I had to take home a good portion of it.
Hubby’s all time favorite Chinese dish – General Tso’s Chicken with fried rice; but he always gives me the broccoli.
I was so amused when the waiter brought me this glass of juice. I was like, “Oh, I’m having beer!” He laughed. 🙂
What a nice message written on my fortune cookie! 🙂
It was a great lunch date with the hubs at Wild Wok. Until next time!
Have a great weekend!

Wild Wok sounds great! I love Chinese food, and I’m always excited to hear about a place that does it right.

I love trying out new restaurants. For one I am a foodie who has an impeccable palette for good tasting food.
But I love to experiment. The plates you displayed look so delicious. Made me hungry. And I love friend rice.
