Happy Food Trip Friday! The hubs talked about mine and my son’s 6th year anniversary of being here in the U.S. on his post this past Wednesday, and today I am going to share how we celebrated it. Just like what we usually do to celebrate a special occasion, we went out to dinner. Jus tas the hubs mentioned in his post, the plan was to eat at a new restaurant – a place that we’ve never been to. That was the plan, initially, but the little one requested that we go to the same steakhouse that we’ve been to before because of their delicious calamari. He is such a sucker for calamari. So off we went to the same restaurant – the one where we celebrated his 13th birthday. This was the same restaurant too where I celebrated my first ever birthday here in the U.S. So this restaurant is kind of special to me. The name of the restaurant is LongHorn Steakhouse.
DRINKS
Yes, you’re only seeing one drink – my orange juice – and that’s because the photo of hubby’s iced tea turned out blurry. The little one had a glass of orange juice too. Oh, let me correct that, he had two glasses of orange juice. One glass was certainly not enough for this growing boy. 🙂
Their wheat bread is just one of the yummiest breads that I’ve ever tasted.
STARTER
We ordered two of the Sweet Chili Calamaris – one for the hubs and one for the little one. This calamari is spicy and I don’t like spicy food at all, so they all had it to themselves. Lucky dudes! 🙂
SALAD
My salad with Italian dressing. YUM!
SOUP
Hubby’s Shrimp and Lobster Chowder. He said it was delish!
ENTREES
The little one’s Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders. He had french fries and rice as sides.
My Bedrock Grilled Shrimp with broccoli and rice as sides. This was what I ordered too the last time we were there. I just can’t get enough of this. So good!
This was the look of the hungry boy. 🙂 It changed though after he had all his calamari.
It was another milestone for us, and I couldn’t be more thankful. It surely doesn’t seem like we’ve been here in the U.S. for six years now. It really seems like it hasn’t been that long since we landed at the Asheville airport and felt that icy cold autumn air. It was already too cold for me then, but for the hubs, it was nothing. 🙂
Enjoy your weekend!
