Happy Food Trip Friday!
I always search online or on Pinterest for new recipes to try. I prefer home-cooked meals more than anything and unless we have a special occasion to celebrate where we go out to eat, I cook five to six times a week. And I don’t like serving the same meals every week to my family either. Although I do have my favorite food that I can eat every week, my husband and son don’t like to eat the same food over and over again. They get tired so quick and the little one can be really picky sometimes. So when I think of food to prepare, I have to think of what the three of us would like. But I must admit, sometimes I just pick recipes that I want them to eat (especially the little one) because I know it’s good for them.
I’ve been seeing and reading a lot about Paleo recipes, but I never tried preparing one until last week. I knew my husband and son would love it because first, my husband loves seafood and sausage and so does my son. So this recipe was perfect!
How I wish the little one would also eat the zucchini, though, but he is very picky when it comes to vegetables.
You can find the original recipe here for this Shrimp & Sausage Skillet Paleo meal, but I tweaked mine a bit. I didn’t add the red bell pepper and I used 14 ounces of sausage instead of just 6 ounces. I also didn’t garnish it with chopped parsley and I didn’t add red pepper flakes because I am not a fan of spicy food.

This is really good and I think it’s going to be on the menu again in three or four weeks’ time. 🙂
Have you tried this dish before?
Enjoy your Friday and have a great weekend!
That looks so good! I love how bright and crisp the veggies look, too. I hate soggy veggies. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

The Paleo foods is what I have been wanting to try or the diet rather . I have to admit that I don’t like shrimp but my family does so I will have to make this recipe for them. I can always take the shrimp off my plate too. Thanks for sharing this awesome dish.

This looks delicious and healthy. My girls would love it and lucky for me, my husband likes just about everything ( except for shrimp, so I’d have to tweak that) Thanks for sharing.
This recipe sounds so good. I wish that my family would eat zucchini. I would have to find a few other veggies to substitute in its place.
