Australia is, without a doubt, a continent with such amazingly diverse nature and culture. Some parts are so different that you won’t even realize that you are on the same continent. This is why one can travel to Australia many times and still want to go again and explore a different part of this magnificent country. I always come back to Australia with different interests and it never seizes to amaze me with its yet undiscovered beauty. So, this time, we will forget about Sydney, Melbourne and the Reef, and talk about some other parts of this beautiful country.
Bunbury
Being the second largest city in Western Australia, Bunbury is a town you shouldn’t skip on your quest. One thing is for sure – this is where you’ll try the best fish and chips in your life. Out of all the places I visited, I have to set aside AJ’s Fish & Chips and Aristos Waterfront. I’m usually not a fan of this dish, but these were to die for.

Exmouth
When I think of Exmouth, Ningaloo Marine Park springs to mind. There are many various options for exploring the underwater world here. You can go snorkelling or scuba diving in order to experience Ningaloo Reef. We were so hooked on this that we decided to spontaneously share accommodation in Exmouth for a few days. I’m not a fan of staying in luxurious hotels. I prefer a more affordable and adventurous option. It’s a good way to save money and meet new people who might even become your friends.

Rottnest Island
Beautiful beaches and a casual atmosphere describe this island. Visit Salmon and Parakeet Bay and you’ll be amazed by how calm and wonderful these beaches are. They are perfect if you want to relax while listening to the sound of waves.

Shark Bay
Being obsessed with the ocean, I am a huge fan of any water-related activities; so, Shark Bay was like a theme park for me. At Ocean Park Aquarium, they let you feed the sharks and dolphins at Monkey Mia you’ll have the chance to play with dolphins. They are so cute and smart. This visit completely melted my heart and I was very reluctant to leave in the end.

Denmark
In case you didn’t know, Denmark is a forested village in Western Australia. This area is rich in wineries and trees. It’s great for relaxing and unwinding. The harmony of wonderful sights and cheerful bird chirping will make you forget about all your troubles. After a day of hiking, have dinner at the Lake House Restaurant where you can have delicious food and amazing wine.

Pinnacles Desert
Visit Pinnacles Desert Discovery Centre and learn something about the history and general features of this place. We had a blast exploring the centre and learning about the nature around us. It’s definitely a must see in Western Australia.

Purnululu National Park
This is a World Heritage Site from 2003. Its most interesting feature is the Bungle Bungle Range, which lies entirely inside the park. Some of its elevations are almost 600 metres high. It is naturally bicoloured, orange and grey, due to different clay content. The orange parts originate from oxidised iron and grey ones got their colour because of cyanobacteria that grow on moist sandstone surfaces.

I’m positive you’ve never heard of some of the aforementioned locations even if you’ve visited Australia before. This is why we should travel as much as we can regardless of whether we have already visited a country or not. Sometimes, we simply change our perspective and get a completely different picture of the place we’re visiting.

Visiting Australia is definitely on my bucket list. These places look amazing! Most people think of Gold Coast, Great Barrier Reef, and Australia Zoo when they think of Australia, and it’s nice to see some of the other scenery and places that Australia has to offer.

Funny enough no matter where I visit I start from the Western side and work my way inward, I guess it is because I love being near the water, but these locations look like a dream for photographers like me! 🙂
