It’s back to school for our kiddo today who is not so little anymore because he’s already a freshman! Yes, we have a high-schooler now. It is still hard to believe that he’s starting high-school already. But like the cliche’ goes, time flies when we’re having fun. Seriously, looking back, it seems like every school year went by so quick.
But I am definitely excited for him. He is anxious about being in high-school though. I think the first day always makes us nervous. I still remember my first days back when I was still a student. It definitely was not my favorite time.
My niece, Reese took this photo of him when we went to Gumasa Beach on our recent vacation to my hometown. I wasn’t aware that they were having a photo shoot because I was busy talking with my sister. Such a great photo and I love it.
He was in the middle school soccer team last year, but this year, he decided not to try out for the Junior Varsity. He wanted to skip it this year and just try out next year.
Even on vacation, he still played soccer with his cousins. Shown here is his cousin, Nikko – my only sisters’s youngest son. My other niece, Restly, took this photo. I didn’t get a photo of him playing soccer with his other cousin, Earl. Both of his cousins play soccer in school and that was one of the reasons why they got along so well.
He definitely had a great time spent with his cousins whom he hadn’t seen for almost 7 years. He didn’t even want to come with us back to the U.S. Ha!
Happy first day of school to you my unico hijo. I kind of like feel a little anxious for you too, but more than anything, I am excited and I can’t wait to hear your stories later today when you get home. Good luck in school and hope this year will be another great year for you!
I shared our back-to-school routine here before which really works for us so we’re sticking to it.
Is school back in your neck of the woods yet?

Ahh, first day of high school…My oldest daughter started her freshman year of college last week. Like I reminded her, it will fly by. It also seems the older you get, the faster time goes. Hope he has a great first day!

School starts in a week for us. My Son is excited for his last year in High School. I remember how nervous he was to go into grade 9. The beach is a great idea to go to this weekend.

School starts next week for us. my daughter is going into grade one she just finished SK. She’s really excited. My son starts grade 4 this year too he’s not quite as excited. I can’t imagine what’s going to happen when they start high school. Good grief I think that’s sooner then I think. Good luck to your guy.

School is back in full swing here and I think my daughter is already hating it. She is such a good student and gets great grades but has a very low tolerance for other kids. I have been thinking about taking her out and homeschooling but I feel there are pros and cons to both so we will see.

Kids really are great at adapting to new circumstances and surroundings. Sometime it is the parents who make things tough by dwelling on the past. Good luck with the new school year!

The first day of school is always nerve wracking. When we think about it, time really does pass by so fast that why we must enjoy the little things while it lasts. Hope he got along well with everyone.
