Happy Food Trip Friday!
As I mentioned on my post on Monday, we went out to eat dinner for my birthday and sampled this restaurant that we have been wanting to go to for a while now. The name of the restaurant is Avenue M. It’s located so close to home and we’ve passed by it many times before. We always notice a good number of customers thus the curiosity of what this restaurant had to offer. My husband had previously eaten there when it was under different ownership and had the name of Usual Suspects. But after many failed attempts of getting a reservation (they were always closed when we planned to go to celebrate something), my birthday finally fell on a day that they were open. Perfect!
So we started with these Bacon Wrapped Scallops.
And these Blue Crab Rangoons. Loved this! So, so good!
Hubby’s spring green salad.
See those two fingers? Peace sign by my son, who else? And that said, I guess you already know whose plate that was. Deluxe burger and fries for him!
For Hubby’s entree, he got this – pan seared beef medallions with red wine rosemary sauce, mashed red potatoes and beets.
My stir fry. This had an interesting taste, but it was really good. It had crispy vegetables, tofu, fig ginger sauce and was served over jasmine rice
Coffee for dinner! Hubby and his coffee. I love coffee too. Not for dinner though.
Got to have the orange juice, of course. Unless they don’t offer it.
And the verdict? I liked the food, but the ambiance? Not so much. The service was okay, but not the best compared to the other restaurants that we’ve been to. But it was nice that we finally got to go there after all this time.
Enjoy your Friday, folks!

The bacon wrapped scallops look incredibly delicious. I live in Maryland and we are the home of the blue crab so I would go for the Crab Rangoon. Your husband’s salad also looks like a great choice. It looks like you had a great birthday dinner.

Happy Birthday. I hope you had a fabulous day. Dinner looks so good. I’m sorry that it didn’t score a 5 on your list since you waited so long.
Thank you!
Happy Birthday to you. I love going out to eat for my birthday. The food looks like it was pretty delicious and filling! You didn’t go for dessert? Thanks for sharing your review of the restaurant!
Thank you, Tatanisha! No, I didn’t go for dessert because I had no room for it. 🙂
