Although spring took its time to finally arrive this year, I am not at all complaining because compared to other parts of the country, we’re still lucky here in the south that we didn’t get hit by too much snow. And we did get to enjoy some spring-like weather during the winter so I think that’s fair.
But after that long winter, it sure is a relief to finally say that spring has sprung! For sure I am not the only one who so looks forward for spring to arrive. And there are so many things that I look forward to enjoy in the springtime.
1. Birds chirping. The first chirp of a bird that I hear is definitely music to my ear. I remember asking my husband all the time like, “Did you hear that? Birds are out and about!”
2. Plants sprouting. I have a flower garden and it’s always a joy for me to see my perennials starting to sprout. At the beginning of spring, I check them every single day waiting for them to take a peek.
3. Flowers blooming. Even before spring officially begins, my daffodils are already blooming which signals that spring is right around the corner. Then my creeping phlox are the first ones to show off their beauty. Then comes my azaleas and then the irises.
4. Green grass. It signals mowing time for the hubs, but he loves it. My boxwoods look green too.
5. Trees in flowers. A delight of white and pretty in pink! I make sure to capture their beauty wherever I see them. If you are following me on Instagram, you must have seen those beauties that I’ve seen, snapped and shared.
6. Spring cleaning. It can be tiring but fulfilling at the same time. Already cleaned our closets and donated the things that we no longer use.
7. Open windows. That very first time that I open the windows after months of being closed is a delight. Letting fresh air comes in is literally a breath of fresh air.
8. Longer days. No need to turn the lights on early, not to mention, more daylight time for the hubs to spend doing yard work. I just have to warn him to keep his weed eater away from my flower garden because he considers anything growing above the grass line a weed.
9. School’s ending. Our son’s enjoying school, but he does look forward to having some R&R too. And we’d love for him to have that much-needed summer break.
10. No more winter layers. I am a shirt and short kind of gal.
11. Sandals. My toes can breathe now. Happy feet!
12. Easter. We always celebrate this special time of year with my brother-in-law and his family. Good food. Good company.
13. Best temperature. Temps in the 70’s is the best temperature for me – not too cold and not too hot. I came from a tropical country where it’s almost in the 90’s or 100’s throughout the year, but trust me, such hot temps that you get every single day gets too old.
14. More time outdoors. More golfing time for the hubs and more walking for me at the golf course. Love counting my steps.
15. Baseball season. The main thing that the hubs awaits, especially his favorite team, the Atlanta Braves. Go Braves!
Do you look forward to spring too? What are the things that you love about spring?

Whenever I hear the birds chirping I instantly smile! I also agree about the longer days . . . when it gets dark early in the winter I feel like I am not nearly as productive because my brain thinks it’s bedtime at 5pm! LOL

I’m enjoying watching the flowers bloom. Some of my favorite flowers bloom in early Spring.

It seems like we skipped spring and went straight to summer here in California. I love the charm of spring with it’s beautiful blooms and sweet signs of life returning. Hopefully, our heat wave is only temporary.

Spring is my favorite as well. The weather is probably one of the top things I love about Spring. That and seeing all the trees and flowers blooming.

Autumn used to be my all-time favorite season, but I’ll have to say it is spring that is my favorite season. I love it for many of the same reasons!
