My son is fan of Thai food. Recently, he was craving for it and came across a new restaurant called Bun Intended. Isn’t their name cute? They are located at a Food Hall here in the city which is located in an iconic, historical building. It just opened last year, I think. They also have a food truck. I learned about it after looking them up because it was my first time to have heard of them, too.
We haven’t been to this Food Hall, yet, but I’ve been wanting to check it out because during our trip to my hometown in 2018, my sister and my niece treated us to a farewell dinner at Food Trip Plaza, a newly-opened food hall that serves different kinds of Asian cuisine. Just reliving that night of good Filipino food is making me so hungry right now.
Anyway, here are the delicious goodies that my son ordered. I know they’re delicious because I also had some.
Jasmine Rice
How pretty! This jasmine rice was sprinkled with green onions and sesame seeds.
Pork Belly Bao
My son loves pork belly big time. This was steamed bun with pork belly, plum BBQ sauce, carrots, cucumbers, radishes, fresh herbs, green onion, and hoisin sauce. My mouth’s watering just by looking at this photo.
Grilled Chicken Bao
He really enjoyed the Pork Belly Bao so he tried the chicken the following day. This was steamed bun with grilled chicken that was cooked in a sweet chili lime sauce. It was served with carrots, cucumbers, radishes, fresh herbs, green onion, and hoisin sauce.
Salapao
This was steamed bun which was filled with pork that was braised in Thai herbs and spices like lime, lemongrass, chilies, coconut milk, ginger, mushrooms and fish sauce. It is topped with hoisin sauce and plum BBQ sauce. This reminds me of our own Siopao in the Philippines or Filipino Steamed Pork Bun. They do differ in taste.
How about you? Do you like Thai Food too?
Happy Foodie Friday, friends!

It looks amazing to me and I would love to try several of these, however, it would have to be a time when hubby isn’t around as he doesn’t like much of anything that isn’t pizza.
