If I were to look for mom early in the morning, I’d have no problem knowing where to look since there’s only one place that she loves so much other than her church: her garden in front of our house. She has a wide array of plants, some of which she bought at garden shows, and some which were gifts from her friends. That’s what her circle of friends and her have in common, they all love plants. I love plants too because they help beautify the house but I certainly don’t consider myself a green thumb like mom. I tried to plant flowers before but they didn’t grow as I expected them to. But I think I could do it in time; I just need a little more practice and determination and I could be just like mom and make my own beautiful piece of paradise.
Just last week, mom got another bunch of cactuses she bought from a garden store. She used them as center pieces for our living room center table and side tables. They are really lovely. She’s been buying pots of flowers and plants almost regularly and I don’t think it will ever end. Before I know it, our front yard will no longer be big enough for all her plants. But we still have our backyard and I’m sure she will make use of it in due time and make our home more of a lovely place that’s not only full of plants and flowers, but also the love of a mom who shares her love by creating a special little Eden for the joy of her family.
