All the goodies enclosed were from my sweet Anghel fiancée in the Philippines, Lynndee. And it was a three bagger, if you will, because it was in celebration of Valentine’s Day, my birthday and the first anniversary of our meeting, all occurring in a 12-day period. WOW! February sure is a busy month for this ol’ boy! But the gifts were wonderful and chosen with a personal touch: a special personalized tee shirt; a beautiful watch she knew I needed because of the trouble I had with mine when I visited her in August; a cute little wooden guitar key chain because she knows how much I love to play the guitar; and some wonderful photos of her and her son, my new family-to-be, that she knew I so much wanted. What a lucky man I am to have someone who pays such attention to detail and then acts upon what her heart leads her to do to show her love for me. Yes, I am very blessed.
But of all the goodies I got, of the most heartwarming were not the material things: it was the words she shared with me that melted my heart. She sent me three cards, one for each occassion, as well as a special card of love and a personal letter which brought tears to my eyes; tears of joy and happiness. Thank you, Anghel. I hope someday to be able to return to you just a li’l piece of the magic you have filled my life with. So, on the very first time ever of getting to share those special days, yes, I’ll be your Valentine; yes, it was a very Happy Birthday; and yes, most definitely, it was a very Happy Anniversary. And of all three of those days, those were just the first ones of the many we have yet to share.
It takes a licking and keeps on ticking! (“,)
