I have heard about bear sightings all around the city and as per our neighbor, there was actually one bear sighting near our neighborhood about a year ago. That scared me for a while, but I never got to see any since I got here in 2010. Well, until that day when we visited the Nature Center with my sister-in-law and her granddaughter.
The only difference was, the bears were in their cage. So there was nothing to worry on our part. My son, as usual, was fascinated. And so was I. It was both our first time to see black bears up close.
