What a day that was! It may have disappointed us at some point, but more than anything, we were thankful. Not to mention, that day was super exciting! Here’s the story.
That day was supposed to be our first road trip of the year. All of us (hubby, son, his buddy and me) were really looking forward to that day. It was drizzling then, but it never gave us second thoughts of discontinuing the plan. We were going to Toccoa, Georgia to visit a museum – one of our son’s birthday wishes.
From the start of our journey here at home, there was already a sign that was given to us. Hubby put his mug of coffee on the roof of the car to put everything up inside the car and totally forgot about it. So, we were surprised what fell down from above as soon as we started running.
So the coffee mug fell, spilling his coffee or what I called his ‘power’. Because of that, we had to stop at the first gas station on our way to Georgia to get him his power. We’ve already traveled 15 miles away from home when we spotted a gas station. The three of us waited inside the car while Hubby got his coffee. All of a sudden, while waiting for him, the engine made a strange sound and died. I wondered and told Hubby about it when he got back.
And yes, the car won’t start. He knew it wasn’t the battery, but still, he asked a stranger to jump us up. And to no avail. There was something wrong with the car, and we were all clueless.
So that was it, the trip came to a halt. Hubby called his friend to tow us and we had the time of our life since then. You want to know why? Our vehicle was on top of a flatbed tow truck and we were in it. Basically, we were seeing where we’ve been. The boys were ecstatic. I was a little nervous at first, but was enjoying it later on.
This was the photo that I took while we were on top of the tow truck. That was really funny. Even the people following us were amused, I think based on their facial reactions. What an experience!
The car problem may have stopped our supposedly first road trip, but we were still thankful because at least we haven’t gone that far yet. Also, at least the car didn’t break down while we were on the highway. It would have been dangerous for us. And, there will still be next time. The plan is still on. I am just waiting for the Husband to decide on it.
Surely…God is watching over us!!! THANKFUL!!!
