My home country, the Philippines has countless waterfalls, but ironically, I’ve never seen one up close. And wouldn’t you know it? It is only here in the U.S. that I get to see one and oh boy, I was amazed. I exclaimed like a little girl actually when I saw it.
Thanks to my Hubby who made everything possible. It was on Memorial Day weekend when we had a road trip to Toccoa, Georgia. Our main purpose was to visit the Currahee Military Museum, but the waterfalls has a special place in my Hubby’s heart because his Dad and Mom (both deceased) visited the waterfalls during their honeymoon. He’d never been there thus, the eagerness to see the place. I was hesitant at first because I thought we would hike a mile to get there, but surprisingly, it was so close. It was located behind the souvenir shop, and we walked like fifteen meters only.
I think the photo didn’t do justice to the beauty of the waterfalls. Blame that on my point and shoot camera. LOL. If only I had a DSLR, this would have been so much better. Just try to run your imagination, okay?
That’s my 10-year-old son, by the way. He was amazed to see the falls as well.
Me and Hubby in a different location. We had to climb rocks to get to that part.
The river. My son do knows how to pose, eh?
There’s my boys throwing stones into the river and enjoying it.
That was really an awesome trip to the waterfalls. I told Hubby that we should go back there someday and have a picnic. It is a two-hour drive from home so we’ll see about that. I’ll make sure too that I will already have my DSLR camera by that time. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
