My home country, the Philippines, is known for celebrating different kinds of festivals or what we also call “Fiesta” (the Spanish term for religious festival or an event marked by festivities or celebration). Every little town or city, big or small, have their own festival to celebrate either religiously or just to celebrate the town or city’s foundation anniversary.
Over the weekend, the husband was lucky enough to be given a complimentary gift card to a Greek festival here in the city. I’ve never been to a Greek festival so when the husband told me about it, I was delighted. I always find it interesting and extremely exciting to explore new things, new places and even different cultures. It is one way to expand our knowledge, is it not?
Just like any other festival, the Greek festival offered different kinds of goodies like arts and crafts and even clothing, enjoyable entertainment for the family, and of course, food. Since today is “Food Trip Friday,” let’s talk about food, of course, shall we?
What you’re seeing below are different kinds of Greek pastries. I made sure I’ve taken down notes because some of them did sure sound Greek to me. But let me tell you, they are all yummy. Pardon the photos though. I just snapped them using my cellphone.
This one is kind of chewy.
