Happy Monday everyone and hello November! Can you believe it is already the month for Thanksgiving? And that being said, I think the Holiday season has officially begun. The holidays are my favorite time of the year and just talking about it makes my heart go pitter-patter. LOL. This season just feels to be the happiest for me, and it’s not the gifts, but the spirit.
But before I get carried away some more about the holiday season, let me take you back to what transpired here on the blog in the month of October. I know some of you are new here so come join me as I look back on those days. Shall we?
We visited two foreign countries for our Food Trip Friday. Not literally though. Let’s just say, we’ve tried different cuisines in the comfort of our own homeland. We went Greek for a day and sampled their delicious pastries at the Greek Festival that we’ve attended. Then we went south when the hubs gave his daughter a Mexican birthday treat. I also shared with you my late MIL’s delicious chili recipe. You’ve learned what our most favorite dessert is and gave you an idea of what we snacked on at the Fall Festival last weekend. You can check back on those and perhaps salivate like me while doing so? (“,)
If you’ll drop by our house, one thing that would surely caught your attention is my husband’s collection of books. He loves to read and the little one’s starting to love it too. I shared with you some of the hub’s favorites including the one by one of his favorite authors, Stephen King, which was turned into a movie that we watched on a weekend. He also wrote about his collection of end-of-the-world books he’s accumulated over the years. The little one’s latest obsession, the Percy Jackson series, made it last month here on the blog too. I just can’t resist sharing it because I am so glad that he’s loving it.
Autumn is definitely my favorite season when it comes to family fun. There is just so much to do in the fall. One would be going to the beach and of course, going to a fall festival or pumpkin patch and enjoy a corn maze. It is something that we don’t have back in my home country; that was why I really enjoyed our first time as well as the second one. I shared our fun through photos. I am a sucker for photos and I also talked about the photography basics that I’ve learned on how to take better ones.
Lastly, I gave honor to the Breast Cancer Awareness Month by sharing a little snippet and my husband gave honor to the late Douglas MacArthur too. He knows his history and loves it. And being a proud mom, I couldn’t help but share about my little kiddo, my bundle of joy who was inducted into the National Junior Beta Club.
So, there you have it. The whole month of October in one precise post. I hope you will keep coming back and join us in the coming months.

I should go back to reading again. I just can’t find time, sigh.
Me too, sis. I used to read a lot back home.
Ahhhh reading!!! I need to start that hobby back up!!
Same here actually. (“,)
October FLEW by for me, too. I blinked and it was November.
What a great accomplishment for your kiddo! I love the Holidays!
Thank you. (“,)
Your picture of Baklava has me drooling! I need good book recommendations. I love reading, but never know which one to pick up.
You packed a lot of fun into your October, and yay for your son and the National Junior Beta Club. Also, I have a big Stephen King book collection myself!
Thank you, Liz. You and the hubs would get along when it comes to books. (“,)
Looks like you guys had an awesome weekend
Looks like a fun packed weekend for sure.
I love the idea of visiting other countries through cuisine! I’m going to have to try it. And I know, it’s totally crazy it’s already the month of Thanksgiving – so exciting!
Really exciting! (“,)
I wish that I could pick up a book and read. I am too busy to sneeze these days.
Same here. (“,)
Looks like you had a productive October:)
I did. (“,)
Do you also read the books your husband loves to read? Reading has always been a good pastime. My boyfriend also collects a lot of book but he stores them in his kindle.
Some of them. I need to get back to reading though. I haven’t read a book in a while. The hubs doesn’t like kindle at all. I was gonna get him one before. He says, he loves the feel of a book in his hand, the smell of the paper, and he loves the sound the pages make when he thumbs through them. (“,)
We just went to the bookstore today to get a few new books. I love to read a great book while i am curled up by the fire.
Looked like a fun October. Hope you have a good November too.
Here’s hoping too. Thank you. (“,)
Those are great fall activities. Hope you had fun!
We did. (“,)
Sounds like October was a fun filled month, I enjoy reading and done a couple of reviews its so relaxing and liberating in its own way.
Reading is really relaxing. I have to get back to it. Just been so busy around here.
Looks like October was great for you. I wish I had the time to read books again, I always seem to be reading blogs instead!
I really can’t believe it’s already November! Time just seemed to fly by.
I love fall too! I wish I had more time to read books, I’m really missing them.
What a beautiful reflection of your month with your family. One thing that jumped out at me, is talking about the food of different countries. Now, I know this is odd to most, but for a few years my family would pick a different country and make that our Thanksgiving meal. Like we did a Peruvian meal one year, so fun and different!
That is interesting and for sure really fun and exciting. How I wish we could do something like that too, for a change. (“,)
Looks like we have something in common! My husband has recently put his video game addiction to the side and started to read more.
Sounds like a great October!
I love how you recap and in one post for the months. It is nice in case someone missed something. Sounds like you had a productive October. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. It was indeed productive.
Autumn is also my favorite season!! great pictures. Thanks for sharing!
I like the idea of recapping your blog from the past month to keep new visitors up to date without having to take more time than they need to. It’s a good idea!

Stephen King is one of hubby’s favorite authors. You two are going to get along, I believe. (“,)
It is really nice to know about your whereabouts for the month of October, so little days for more things you have done.
We already had our Thanksgiving, as I’m Canadian. Happy holidays to you and yours though!
(I love that icecream…it accounts for my lack of thigh gap)
Oh yeah, Canada celebrates Thanksgiving earlier than the US. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving.
Wow! It sure sounds like you had a very productive October. I wish we would have been able to get out more and enjoy some of the fall festivities.
It was a very productive one and I am sure hoping for a productive November as well. (“,)
