How was your holiday celebration? We had such a wonderful Christmas with family.
We celebrated Christmas Eve with my in-laws and as usual, my sister-in-law prepared a great amount of delicious foods that so delighted our taste buds. She never fails to create a repast of culinary magnificence. If only I had a bigger storage area to fill with all those delicious goodies. But my poor little tummy will stretch only so far so unfortunately, there was not enough room for all I wanted to sample. So even though I wanted to try everything, I had to limit myself.
She was working so hard to get everything ready and as soon as she yelled out it was time to eat, everybody swarmed so there was no chance for me to take photos of the main entrees, but what a spread it was. I had to settle on taking photos of the desserts. Would you believe that I only sampled the brownies? What can I say? Just looking at them from where I was sitting already made me full. Ha!
Look how delicious they all look! And guess what? Now that they’re not in front of me anymore, I have this craving. Isn’t that ironic?
This Christmas Eve get-together is a tradition my husband’s family have been doing since he was a little boy. And though all the parents and aunts and uncles who instituted this holiday gathering are now gone, hubby and his brother have continued it, passing it on to the next generation. And though I’ve come to enjoy this immensely, this being my fifth Christmas Eve in the Land of Uncle Sam, I do get nostalgic thinking of the traditional dinner on Christmas Eve in my home country, which is what we call Noche Buena. I miss Noche Buena and that’s because I miss the traditional Filipino foods that are served on Christmas Eve.
How was your Noche Buena?

Desserts are usually the highlight of any party I am at LOL. We are big on chocolate frosted brownies and cheesecake. Yum!
I couldn’t agree more with you. (“,)
This all just made me so hungry! And I had to laugh about you not having a chance to take pictures of the main course … that has happened to me before, too!
Too funny! So I wasn’t the only one. (“,)
It all looks really good but I have to say the toffee bars and the cheese ball look most appealing to me! Yum! Thank you for sharing your pictures!
They all look so good! You had me at brownie 🙂
Oh wow- it really looks like your sister in law went all out! Getting family together for the holidays is one of the best things. My husband and I just had a quiet day at home together, as the rest of our families was back home in the US.
My family is back home in the Philippines as well. Good thing, Hubby’s brother and his family just lives nearby.
The Brownies is my favorite. This is perfect for huge families. Thank you for sharing
Oh goodness, you all know how to eat! What a wonderful collection of holiday goodies. We went to church and then over to my brother’s house for pizza on Christmas Eve.
Omg all of these look pretty tasty!! Especially the cookies & the cheese!! I’ve been on a huge cheese kick lately 😉
All those deserts are so beautiful, I want to fill my belly with all of them; it’s the best part about Christmas!
I always try to make cookies and one appetizer like a hot dip for the holidays. This year we did smoked meat on the grill and potatoes. So good!
I just showed the pictures to my kids and we all said: “Wow! Those desserts look amazing… I’d like to join you for tea. 🙂 Haha!
Haha. That’s too funny. Sure, you can come over for a tea. (“,)
Hi! I love it all. We didn’t get to bake much this year! I just drooled all over the goodies everyone else baked, like yours they all look really yummy!
Brownies – now that is something I totally totally love to have – we stuffed ourself up with it during the holiday as well.
Oh my gosh. Your post made me crave for sweets and desserts. I love everything you had here.
