I know not everyone celebrates Valentine’s Day. Us? We love celebrating the day. The husband and I usually give each other surprises and the husband never fails to give the little one his share too. They don’t have to be extravagant. It’s the thought that counts after all.
He used to give me flowers and chocolates when I was still in the Philippines, but since we started celebrating Valentine’s Day together, it has been chocolates plus a stuffed toy. I giggled and squealed as soon as I saw my surprises this year. Both of them plus a card were sitting on the kitchen counter waiting for me. Our son’s surprises were on the dining table.
Isn’t that monkey a cutie? It had been either a bear or a puppy the past years so I was not only surprised when I saw the monkey, I was amused. So amused I think I giggled like a teenage girl while looking at it.
Our son loves KitKat so he was so happy that he got a box of it. And as always, he didn’t mind at all that the box was heart-shaped.
Don’t you just love those chocolates? I am a certified chocoholic so I love ’em. I had them with my coffee yesterday and today. Yum-o!
We also go out to dinner every Valentine’s Day. There was a change of plan with our dinner, but it was such a fantastic change. We were supposed to go downtown and check a new restaurant but it started raining ice by early evening so we opted to check the newest restaurant close to home instead. It’s always better to be safe than sorry. We went to this newly-opened Barbeque place and oh boy, I had ribs and they were so delicious.
How was your Valentine’s Day?

It sounds like you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day! My husband and I went out for Valentine’s Day and enjoyed a nice, KID FREE evening. =D
We’ve been celebrating our Valentine’s Day with the little one in tow. I have two of my most favorite people with me and it gets no better than that. (“,)
Kit Kat makes candies?! That’s so awesome! My Valentine’s Day was great, but tomorrow’s going to be even better. Because I will have gone out and gotten a pack of these! =D
You’re so funny. ‘Twas the first time that I’ve seen KitKat in a heart-shaped box actually. The husband totally nailed it because the little one loves KitKat. (“,)
My husband and I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, but I am happy you and your hubby enjoyed your day. I love me some Kit Kats.
Thank you! (“,)
I absolutely DO love those chocolates – but as I was in labour twice in the past four years on Valentine’s day, we celebrate next week instead. So there’s plenty of time for me to get some chocolates 😉
Sounds like a lovely day! We love Valentine’s here. Ours was great but I’ve been battling teeth issues so it was short!
Sounds like you had a good Valentines Day. We don’t celebrate that holiday much as we are grateful for our relationship all year round and don’t like to set one “Hallmark” day to celebrate it. thank you for sharing though!!!
That sounds like a great Valentine’s Day to me! I love Valentine’s night dinners. I get so excited!
Me too! (“,)
Who doesn’t love chocolate?! Sounds like you had a great Valentine’s Day!
It was great! (“,)
We love chocolates in any form. I think they’re the perfect treat in all occasions. The monkey doll looks so cute! Is it soft?
I know, right? So cute! Yup, it is very soft. (“,)
The boyfriend gave me a dozen tulips! It would have been better with chocolates haha!
LOL! I love tulips! They’re gorgeous!
That is an adorable stuffed monkey. I would not care as long as there was chocolate enclosed in whatever shape was available the day it was bought for me!! Glad you were able to go out close to home and enjoy a dinner at a good restaurant.
It is indeed adorable. Love it! And we really enjoyed our dinner. The food were superb. (“,)
Those chocolates look great! My boyfriend made a steak and shrimp dinner and made me my own box of chocolates , it was really sweet.
Aww, ’twas sweet indeed. Glad you had a great Valentine’s Day! (“,)
Pretty fun Valentine’s – I can see it was a great and thoughtful one for you! Yes the chocolates look yummy!
This was the first Valentine’s Day we didn’t celebrate. My grandmother was in the hospital. It is nice to see y’all’s tradition! I always plan out the gifts for my kids and husband, I think my husband just grabs whatever is near the counter at the store. 🙂

Sorry about your grandmother. I hope she’s feeling a lot better.
That is a really cute monkey. We don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, unless it’s for the kiddos.
It is really cute! Valentine’s Day is not just for the hubs and I. Our little one has always been a part of it too. (“,)
It sounds like a nice Valentine’s Day. I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day except for to give the kids candy.
That monkey is adorable, I love the chocolates too. But the monkey, that is my favorite. I got Vodka for valentines Day!
Wow! Looks like you had a great Valentine’s Day as well. (“,)
Awwwww what a fabulous Valentines:) the candy is literally my favorite part 🙂
Awww that sounds like such a lovely night for the two of you! My husband I and stayed home and cuddled watching movies 🙂
Not just for the two of us. We always celebrate Valentine’s Day with the little one too. (“,)
I want that monkey! We spent out V-day at the auto show.
That sounds great too! (“,)
Oh how sweet! Chocolate and flowers are not my cup of tea but I appreciate them once in a while.
And they happen once in a while. (“,)
How adorable! My Valentine’s Day was so laidback, but I did dine out with my husband and daughter, and I normally avoid restaurants on that day since they’re usually so full.
They usually are full but I don’t really mind. It’s expected and we’re used to it. (“,)
Sometimes a change of plans does work out nice. Glad that was the case with your ribs. 🙂
So cute! I love sock monkeys. I skipped the candy this year. Hubs and I went out of town for 4 days. Even though one day we got snowed in our hotel and missed the comedy show we were going to, it was still a lot of fun and sure made for a good story.
We didn’t celebrate much this year. Hubby always gets me chocolate that he ends up eating with my son lol This year they even bought me flowers!
I love the sock monkey and the chocolates. What a fun combination! I would be very happy if I received a gift like this.
What a great Valentine’s Day for you! Glad you had a great day. Love the sock monkey!
What a cute sock monkey! I am glad you had a lovely Valentine’s Day!! Xo
