I was watching the late afternoon local news last Friday as I usually do when one of their anchors was covering an event which was happening so close to where we live; just three-tenths of a mile away! I was delighted because I am always on the lookout for the latest happenings around town. I’d never heard of the event before so I told the hubs that we needed to go check it out since it was so close to us.
I didn’t know what to expect from the event, but I knew for certain that they’d have one of the things that I like – food trucks. I grabbed my phone so I could take some photos and excitedly went with the hubs and our son. I am always excited to check new things like this to share with our readers.
Food Truck Fridays is a block party that is free for all and happens every fourth Friday of every month from May to September at Reynold’s Village in north Asheville, North Carolina. I was surprised that it started in May yet I hadn’t heard about it.
You might think that the event is only about food trucks since it is what they call it. Nope! They also have a mobile boutique like this one. That was my first to have seen a mobile boutique and of course, I was wide-eyed. Every woman would be, I guess. 😉
There were also booths and stands selling different items like accessories, beauty products, and even pots, etc. And they had things for the kids as well.
Music was part of the event too. These guys played good bluegrass music – something that is new to me, but something that I truly enjoy listening to.
The little one as usual was hungry which didn’t surprise us although he had just had his dinner and asked for something from this food truck. I will share with you on Friday what he asked for. That’s the hubs right there ordering the food.
The event runs from 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. We didn’t stay the entire time, but we had fun checking the event out.
On checking, I found several cities in our state also have Food Truck Fridays, as well as cities in other states. Do you have it in your area?

That looks like so much fun! We don’t have anything like this where we live. I think it would be a good way to get to know people in your community too.

That looks so awesome! I love food trucks. They’ve come a long when since the days when eating from one pretty much guaranteed food poisoning. They’re restaurants on wheels now.

Hi Jeannette,
This is at Reynolds Village in north Asheville, not in the downtown area. I hope you could check it out next month. 🙂

I love food trucks and am always curious where they are and what they serve! I love the diversity and also being exposed to foods that I probably would not be making at home! it is always a good excuse to meet at a food truck with friends!

I hope there would be more mobile boutiques that would go to provinces because it is in these areas where malls and stores are scarce. Most people are used to just online shopping to get their merchandise.

i obsessed with Food Trucks but they’re pretty pricey here in San Diego.. They sell gourmet foods, so cost us about $10 each or more . Taste good, very unique but wish they could sell cheaper foods 🙂
