Wasn’t it only yesterday when I did the May Recap? It seems like it. Time surely does fly! Half of the year is over and we’re moving on to the next half. Before I know it, it’s already time to put up the holiday decor. 🙂 Anyhoo, let’s head on to the recap.
June has been a good month like the previous months. Nothing bad happened and all is well in our neck of the woods. School ended for the little one and we are all excited that summer is here. We have already enjoyed some trips this summer, and I hope we get to do more.
FAMILY
Hubby definitely had a blast on Father’s Day – a celebration that he so deserved. Why I am certain of it is because he was the one who gave the title for my Father’s Day post, A Spectacular Father’s Day! Need I say more?
I’ve never met hubby’s parents because his dad passed away when he was only 14 and his mom passed away just seven months before I arrived here in the U.S., but I feel like I’ve known them from the stories that he has told me. And he shared a heartwarming story of his dad and what he had taught him in ‘I Love My Job! A Loving Legacy of Labor.’
Like I said before, I think there will never be a month that the hubs is not going to talk about books here. He is such a bookworm and his love for books started from when he was only 6-years-old. He talked about the book, What’s it All About? by Michael Caine and the books by H.G. Wells. Like some of the comments he received about those posts, I would have never known of those books or authors if not for him.
FOOD
I shared three different recipes this month for different meals – one for breakfast, one for dinner and one simple healthy side dish. The Sausage and Potato Frittata for breakfast, Bistek Tagalog or Filipino Beefsteak for dinner and the Sauteed Mixed Vegetables with Oyster Sauce for side dish. Have you tried any of those yet?
The hubs did have a great Father’s Day and one of the reasons was having a good dinner at P.F Chang’s. The food was just superb in that restaurant. We’ll go back for sure.
TRAVEL
I finished my series for our Day at the Carolinas Aviation Museum with parts 2, 3 and 4. Part 1 is here if you want to check it out. Going to the museum was our first road trip for the summer. We have no plans yet where we’re going to next so we’ll see, though I know my hubs is dying to see his Atlanta Braves play again, and I’d certainly love it if we went when the Yankees were there.
On second thought, we haven’t explored the entire city of Asheville, North Carolina yet where we live and I know there is still a lot that we’ve got to see and learn in this city. Hubby started sharing a little bit of the city’s history in Asheville is Not Only My Hometown, But Also a Place of History and there will be more that I’ll share here later.
And that’s a wrap for the whole month of blogging in June!

It sounds like you had a wonderful month. We got to do a few things last month too.
My husband didn’t get to know my mom either. She passed away about two years after we married but she had dementia so she wasn’t all there when we met.

It sounds like you had an awesome month of June and so happy your husband had a spectacular Father’s Day. Sausage and Potato Frittata sounds interesting and I will have to try making this for sure. I would love to go on a little trip sometime this summer. I had my baby graduate from High School and his grad party. Than I ended up sick rest of the month. I still had a beautiful month though. Thanks for sharing.
