Fall soccer is now in full swing and we had our first game of the season last Saturday. It was such a gorgeous day with the temps in the low 80’s. After a few days of fall-like weather, I certainly didn’t think that we’d still have summer temps again, but I am so glad we did because after the game, we headed to the center of a nearby town and checked out their festival called Art in Autumn.
It was our first time to check it out and that was because it was also our first time to have heard of it. It was their ninth year of celebrating the annual festival, but I just saw it in the local newspaper last week. Perfect timing if I may say since the soccer game was also held in that town, so me being a lover of things like that, I chose not to miss it for the world.
Art in Autumn is an outdoor arts and crafts festival which was held from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday in downtown Weaverville, North Carolina. Weaverville is located 7 miles north of Asheville, North Carolina.
Those booths were lined up on the Main Street of downtown Weaverville featuring artists and craftspeople. There were a lot of amazing and beautiful stuff that were being sold at the festival. I was in awe of how skillful and creative people can be.
Below were just some of the goodies that were displayed and were for sale.
How cute are those mugs? 🙂
Bears that were made using scrap wood.
Those car photos were done in watercolor.
Those baskets remind me of my home country, the Philippines, because we create them too.
A robot-looking thingy made out of recycled materials.
Pretty displays made from recycled tin cans.
The event was free and there were a lot of free parking areas close to the event. There were also a lot of vendors selling food. And since it was in downtown, you could also choose to eat at the restaurants along the street where the festival was held.
Our eyes were really opened to such amazing craftsmanship, talents, skills and creativity. Glad to be able to enjoy such a festival.
