I remember loving the idea of having my photo taken when I was little. The abundant amount of photos back home when I was a little girl wearing that wide smile with confidence attached to it is proof of that. As my mom told me, I loved the camera.
But now that I am older, I prefer being behind the camera most of the time. I don’t have problems having my photo taken, but I prefer to be the one taking the photos. And when I say photos, I’m talking about anything and everything under the sun. From food to panoramic views, to people, etc. And when it comes to a human subject, it’s my son that takes center stage most of the time.
When Instagram arrived, I couldn’t have been any happier. I have a Canon DSLR (a gift that my dear husband gave me on our wedding anniversary last year), but not unless I have a project to take photos that I want taken with my DSLR, I use my cellphone instead. A DSLR is bulky compared to carrying my iPhone 6 which perfectly fits my crossbody bag (my kind of bag to carry all the time), not to mention, taking photos using my cellphone is more convenient when I want to share them on social media afterwards. I guess you can relate to that.
And autumn, or fall, being my favorite season, I make sure not to miss capturing its beauty and bountiful colors using my cellphone and sharing it on Instagram. Some of you may have already seen these photos, but I thought of sharing it here too for others to see.
So here you go, the beauty of autumn through the lens of Instagram.
This was the very first tree that changed color here in our neighborhood. The hubs said it’s a locust tree.
A red maple tree at the soccer field in the nearby town. I also shared another shot of it HERE.
I’m not sure what tree this is. I took this when we went for a business appointment near downtown.
The view from our front porch. This photo was featured on the Visit North Carolina website. You can check the photos that were featured HERE. I was really delighted when they contacted me on Instagram to have this photo featured on their site.
This was at the parking lot after we had dinner at one of the restaurants here.
At this time of year, all of these beauties are already gone and almost all the trees in our area are bald except for those remaining dry leaves that are still attached to some of the branches. But look at this, there is still beauty in those leaves that fell. I captioned this photo with a beautiful quote.
“Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree. ” – Emily Bronte
I’m done capturing the beauty of autumn. Next will be winter. Let’s see what kind of beauty winter will bring.

Those photos are fantastic. Fall is the most beautiful season for photography in my opinion.
These are great captures. Autumn indeed is a beautiful season. I enjoyed looking at your photos.
Most of the leaves here have already fallen, but I took lots of pictures in early October when they were at their peak.
This is the only thing I do miss about the seasons. I love seeing the colors change in the fall. They are gorgeous. I could look at the pictures all day!
I love pictures of fall and leaves and the trees. They make such beautiful photos.
Your fall colours are absolutely gorgeous! Our colours are almost completely gone now. The trees have dropped most of their leaves. I’m looking forward to the beauty of winter (just not the cold!).
These are such pretty photos. This reminds me that I need to take some trips to the nature center soon. The leaves are so pretty right now.
So beautiful! Autumn really is my favorite season. Your photos made me miss the States 🙂
Your photos are absolutely gorgeous, orange everywhere! It’s so hard not to fall inlove with this season.
I agree about cell phones being the most convenient, especially for social media sharing. I do love Instagram!
I love Autumn… some Instagram accounts often post their photos using “Autumn” filter 🙂 Its pretty popular
Great idea! I don’t use instagram that often yet to be honest it’s not my preferred social channel, but once I use it more I may do a roundup of photos too! I love the colors of Fall 🙂
This highlights the beauty of the fall season! I really love how the colors of the leaves change and how it gives a fresh new look to the surroundings.
Wow! The photos you’ve taken are really beautiful. I’m really loving the colors of autumn, it’s such a beauty.
There is something about crunchy leaves under your feet. I love it. That red maple is gorgeous! Very nice pictures.
You captured fall beautifully here in all your images. All our fall leaves are down and raked up
Your pics are absolutely gorgeous!! I love fall and just wish we had more fall like trees around central Arkansas. We mostly have pine trees which stay green year round…boring!!
These are such beautiful pictures, this time of year is so pretty. I need to get out and take some photos before it’s too late!
Fall is on e of my favourite times of the year. I went for a walk today and took some photos. The colours are so magnificent.

These are all gorgeous fall pictures. I have always loved the red and the orange leaves out of all the fall colors. Living in Upper Michigan we have some beautiful fall sites that people come from all over the U. S. to see.
The trees are so beautiful. The trees in Texas are just now starting to turn. I always love fall because the colors are absolutely amazing.
Those pictures are absolutely gorgeous! This is my favorite time of year to take pictures, because the autumnal season makes the perfect backdrop for everything.
I like the bronte quote at the bottom. 🙂 This is a glorious time of year!
