How come it’s December already? It seems like I blinked and November was gone. But I am not complaining at all because this is certainly my favorite time of the year and I am so giddy with excitement for Christmas! Do you feel the same way too? 😉
But before I, or we, get carried away about Christmas, let’s look back on what transpired here on the blog last month. So here’s my November Recap!
FAMILY
Other than watching our favorite shows together or having our movie nights, each of us in the family also have our own things that we enjoy when we’re not glued to the boob tube. If you have been on this blog before, you do know that my husband is not only a bookworm, he also is so into history. He has been fascinated with history since he was a young boy. He has already shared a lot of stories pertaining to history in the past and last month, he talked about Medicine Crow, an American Indian warrior.
Not only that, he also talked about one of his favorite John Irving novels, A Prayer for Owen Meany in his post Do You Believe in Miracles? Owen Meany Did. And then he wrote about his childhood hero, the late President John F. Kennedy in 11/22/63: Another Date That Forever “…will live in infamy…” I’m really learning a lot from my husband about history which is really amazing.
FOOD
I love food and I am always in search of new food to try not just for me, but also for my husband and son. As soon as I saw the recipe for the Mummy Hot Dogs in one of the blogs that I visited, I thought of my son immediately. I knew he would be delighted. But I didn’t expect that he would think they were Pigs in a Blanket which is one of his favorites instead of Mummy Hot Dogs. That was too funny. But it could be called either way, I guess. The only difference is the eyes. 🙂
The husband introduced me to Whoopie Pies, but minus the filling. A recipe was included in his favorite coffee so he baked us some. It was still delicious without the filling, though.
TRAVEL
We went to Eliada Corn Maze in October and had fun, as always. It is the largest corn maze in North Carolina and it was our third corn maze experience. The huge corn maze did not disappoint at all. We got lost, but we managed to find our way back after a while.
Going through a corn maze is just one of the many things that I love about autumn. The many photos that I’ve snapped and shared on Instagram are just proof how I love the season. And I shared some of those photos in The Beauty of Autumn Through the Lens of Instagram.
One thing that we also enjoy doing as family is going on road trips. Hubby made a bucket list and we are really eager and excited to complete that list next year.
I love our city of Asheville and I’m not being biased if I say that Asheville is such a beautiful city. In The Great Art Deco Architecture of Asheville you’ll see just a few of the beautiful buildings that would delight you if you ever chose to visit us here. And you should have seen the Asheville Holiday Parade which we got to see finally for the first time this year. We had fun despite the freezing cold and we are definitely going to watch again next year.
And…that sums it all up.
How was your November?
