I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine’s Day! It’s the love month so I think I do have an excuse to be sappy, right? But don’t worry, it’s not going to be super duper sappy. Just a little bit. 😉
February is the most celebrated month here in our household because aside from Valentine’s day, it’s also the month that we celebrate our wedding anniversary. And soon we’re going to celebrate hubby’s birthday. Although we celebrated our anniversary at the most unusual place (more on that story soon), both of us still made sure to give each other surprises. But the hubs really surprised me big time. So big I was ashamed of what I got him. But it’s the thought that counts, right? 😉
I gave the hubs this cutie li’l bear that says it all for our anniversary. He surely didn’t expect to get a teddy bear because he always thinks that bears are only for women. Well, I did that to break the norm and gladly, it gave a smile to his face. The other gift didn’t get here in time and is still not here until now actually, so I will just share about it later on.
The sneaky man that he always is, he contacted an accomplice (his cousin) to pick up this ring for me that he ordered via phone. He got me an anniversary ring – a white gold ring that has 10 diamonds in it. It is so pretty and I really loved it. Now I got three rings on my ring finger. Am I going to have four rings in my finger on our next anniversary? Hee-hee.
Now, let’s talk about Valentine’s Day. We always go out to dinner to celebrate heart’s day. We do know how busy and packed restaurants are on this day, but it don’t discourage us to go out and have dinner. We went out as early as 4:30 in the afternoon to beat the crowds. But unfortunately, they were thinking the same way as we did. When we got into the restaurant (a steakhouse to be exact), the line was a mile long. So we decided to leave without even knowing where to go. While on the road thinking of a restaurant, our son suggested his favorite Chinese Buffet, and that was where we ended up.
The photo above is a little bit of everything of the desserts that I indulged myself with. The buffet can’t be beat because everything in there is just delicious including these desserts. We all went home with full tummies and happy hearts full of love. 🙂
We don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day in our family, so it was just a regular weekend for us. Glad you had a good one 🙂
Looks like they had a great supply of desserts! I am all for dessert especially on Valentines day! YUM! Looks like you all had a wonderful day!
We don’t celebrate Valentine’s much here. We’ve had a lot of Valentine’s together so we just enjoy each other’s company. Looks like you had a fantastic day though!
Happy Valentine’s Day, Anniversary, and everything love filled in between. We celebrated our weekend with snow, a fireplace, fondue, and love. It was fantastic. Enjoy in the indulgence of the month and your celebration of everything love!
That’s a lovely ring! I’m happy that you guys are able to maintain the fire of your relationship throughout your married years.
Oh, how nice! I love your gifts to each other. We didn’t go out for Valentine’s Day but we had a nice low-key evening.

Aww, what a pretty ring, that was thoughtful of his cousin to help in his surprise. I took myself out for coffee and ended up in Barnes & noble catching a few chapters of the book I’m reading.
We stayed home on Valentine’s day. The kids had their own activities planned out so it was just me and my hubby. We made a delicious shrimp dinner, and finished it off with a tub of dark chocolate ice cream. BTW, Happy anniversary to you and your husband. That ring looks lovely!

This is the first year I didn’t really celebrate Valentines Day. I was proposed to on Valentine’s Day and now going through a divorce; so things were a bit different this year.
