One rainy day last week, the hubs and I decided to drive in the rain to go to a thrift store to search for a coffee table. I’ve been searching and browsing for coffee tables online some of which had such ridiculous prices that I told the hubs we’d go to a thrift store first before we buy anything. There were cheap ones online too, but we didn’t like what we saw.
This thrift store was huge, what could be considered a mega thrift store and it’s called, The Regeneration Station. I’ve been wanting to check the place since the time I heard about it. But apparently, this is not just your ordinary thrift store. Most of the pieces that they sell are antiques. And when you talk of antiques, the price can be really pricey. So pricey that we left without a coffee table in hand because their coffee tables were just not in our budget. Not yet, anyway. Maybe when we win the lottery. 🙂
But I definitely enjoyed the time that the hubs and I spent there. It is located in a huge warehouse and there were a lot of amazing antique stuff in different stalls sold by different sellers. Do you know the show Fixer Upper on HGTV? I love that show and I felt like I was Joanna Gaines while I was checking all those antique pieces. The photos below were just a little of what was in there.
Such a cool looking electric fan! Love it!
Pretty yellow furniture!
Not sure how old this gas pump is but I don’t think they looked like this when I was little. This is probably much older than I am. 🙂
See that round coffee table? So simple looking yet so pricey!
I think my grandparents used to have this kind of radio. So cute!
There were a lot of things in this stall and I didn’t know which ones to look at or check first.
That was really a good time at the thrift store, not to mention a good exercise for the hubs and I too because there was definitely a lot of walking involved in that huge store. 🙂
Do you love going to thrift stores? Do you love antiques?

Sometimes it is nice to just look and browse around! Maybe you can find inspiration in a refurbished item and try your hand at re-purposing a not-so-good table! Looks like you guys had a great time though!

I love thrifting, but lately it seems that everything is overpriced. Stores try to sell things as antiques, but if it’s not at least 100 years old, then it’s not a true antique.

I love going to thrift stores. If it would be antiques I would be getting, I’d go for chests, drawers, or china cabinets. I love wood furniture! The place you went to sure had a lot of nice items! They’d make great conversation pieces.
