Happy Monday! And hello May!
Can you believe we are almost in the middle of the year? And there’s only few weeks of classes left for my son. Not to mention, we only have one more game of spring soccer. I can already smell SUMMER! I bet everybody is excited as I am that summer is right around the corner. But before I get excited some more, let me look back at what we shared here on the blog first last month. Here goes the April recap.
FAMILY
Baseball season is here and as expected, hubby can’t help himself from gushing about his favorite pastime, and of course, about his favorite team, the Atlanta Braves. Other than getting excited when baseball season is here, one thing that the hubs loves to do is reminiscing. He loves to reminisce about his childhood days and those times with his beloved late mom. His mom gave him a Polaroid Swinger on Christmas when he was twelve. Isn’t the vintage Polaroid camera so cool?
FOOD
Our only son turned thirteen in March, but I only got to share his birthday dinner fit for a teen in April. We really enjoyed the food at the steakhouse. Yum! Hubby and I also was able to have a breakfast date, an impromptu one to be precise. Don’t you just love impromptu dates? 🙂
Other than enjoying good food from the best restaurants around town, I was glad to finally got to share another Filipino dish after a while, the Pancit Bihon or Filipino Rice Noodles. Have you tried it yet? How about the two-ingredient Healthy Avocado Smoothie? I’ve been having it regularly. Super yummy!
TRAVEL
Like I said, summer is right around the corner and I guess some of you are already planning a summer getaway. We haven’t planned anything yet although the hubs and I have been talking about it. I certainly would love to visit Utah after seeing Capitol Reef Country in photos.
For those of you who like to visit small towns like us, I made a list of some charming small towns to visit near our city of Asheville here in North Carolina.
Like the hubs, I love to reminisce too and talked again about our trip to the National Aquarium in Baltimore and to the Carolinas Aviation Museum in Charlotte.
How was your April?

Our April was busy! We’re trying to close on a house (today – fingers crossed!) and get everything lined up to move in. We closed our old place last week.

April went by so fast, but I think it was because it was busier than usual for me. This month, I’m hoping to make more time for some of the things I enjoy doing during the warmer months, such as hiking.

My April was fairly boring compared to yours I see. As it gets warmer if our Wisconsin weather will cooperate hopefully we’ll be doing more!
