Hello June! It feels like you snuck up on me like the previous months. 🙂 But what else is new? It’s a fact…time does fly when you are having fun!
May was really great over here. We finally got to have a family getaway over the Memorial Day weekend and it was so much fun. The road trip was smooth and the weather cooperated. Totally awesome! I will share about that trip here on the blog pretty soon. For now, let me look back on how was May here on the blog. So here you go…this year’s May recap.
FAMILY
My husband and son never failed to make Mother’s Day extra-special for me and I couldn’t be more grateful to them for that. I also gave tribute to my mom on Mother’s Day. She has done a lot for our family and she deserved that recognition.
May was busy for us with regards to our son’s extra-curricular activities. Spring soccer ended and he also had his Spring Concert for his school concert band. It was a success and I couldn’t be more proud of our little trumpet boy. My husband used to be a member of the school concert band too when he was in high-school. Not only that, he was also an editor of the high-school paper which started his love for writing.
Father’s Day is right around the corner and the hubs already got a gift. That was only the first gift though. He deserves a little more because he is such a good dad to our son.
And finally after five years (gotta admit that), we were able to deep clean our carpets. Can you imagine how gross the water was afterwards? But I am such a happy camper now that it is clean.
FOOD
The hubs and I seldom have dates so we always grab the opportunity whenever there’s one. We had a lunch date with a bit of whimsy when our son had a field trip to Atlanta, Georgia. Loved the food and decor of that restaurant.
Recipe wise, I got to share two healthy and delicious dishes – the one-pan salmon with asparagus and the roasted butternut squash salad with pearl couscous. Have you tried preparing these dishes yet?
TRAVEL
It’s getting hot in here…proof that summer is just around the corner. If you haven’t planned a family getaway yet, now is the time. How about glamping at Bear Lake? That would be awesome, don’t you think?
And there you have it! The whole month of May in one post. 🙂
How was your May?

I love summer and I can’t wait for Father’s Day to make it special for my hubby. He takes such good care of all of us. It is always nice to look back and reminisce about the good things in life.

May was great month for me too. On Mother’s Day we took my mom to her favorite restaurant, took a road trip to Palm Springs with friends, and my family had a big cookout on Memorial’s Day.

My May was busy but good. Got to spend Mother’s Day with my daughter, celebrated a few birthdays with my Gemini friends and enjoyed a nice Memorial Day celebration with my husband.

I love your carpet cleaning confession! I moved into my house over 2 years ago and recently was the first time I cleaned mine. They were terrible.
