Happy Independence Day!
What are you up to today? We are heading downtown later this afternoon for some 4th of July fun. I can’t wait because other than the fireworks display, they also have live music and…food trucks! And I already have something in mind on what I’m going to eat. You’ll find out later because I am going to share a photo on Instagram. If you’re already following me on Instagram, then watch out for that. 😉
I always get excited whenever a new month begins. And I am hoping this month will bring us good cheer just like what June did. There was so much beauty in June like those flowers that I shared. And we got to finally got to go on a much-needed road trip too and I’ve shared a lot about that trip. So a look back on what we had in June; here’s the June recap!
FAMILY
My love of flowers needs no explanation as shown by the number of times I’ve shared photos of flowers here on the blog and on Instagram. I take photos of flowers everywhere – from our own flower garden with the evidence of my beautiful blue hydrangeas to even the flowers in stores or on the side of the highways. Good thing my husband is always good-to-go whenever I want to stop at the side of the Interstate just to take photos of flowers. He even took a snap shot of me while I was taking photos of those beautiful purple flowers.
FOOD
A lot of people are for sure going to have cookout today and enjoy delicious grilled summer recipes. My Bratwurst Kabobs together with the pasta salad side dishes would be a hit on the table, for sure. The Zucchini Tots wouldn’t be bad either, especially for those picky little eaters like our son. 🙂
TRAVEL
I love Nashville! Like I said in my Weekend in Nashville post, I love country music and had been wanting to go to the Music City since I got here in the US and that opportunity finally came. Perfect! And the weather cooperated so we really had a blast walking through Music Row and checking out sites like the Ernest Tubb Record Shop and the Johnny Cash Museum. We walked by the Ryman Auditorium too, the original home of the Grand Ole Opry. If the queue hadn’t been so long, we would have took a tour there too. Maybe next time.
We also visited The Parthenon where a 42-foot re-recreation of Athena is. You’ve got to visit that amazing landmark when you go to Nashville.
I hope we get to go on another road trip soon. To Heber Valley maybe? Or even possibly, if things work out, the ultimate road trip back to my home in the Philippines. And that sure is one long road. 🙂
How was your June?
Have a fun and safe 4th of July celebration!
