Happy Monday and Hello August!
Here I am again for my monthly recap. It’s funny though that the month of July didn’t seem to fly by that quick compared to the previous months…maybe because we had such a hectic yet fun-filled July?! I truly believe so. And here’s hoping that this August will be as good if not better. If things will go as planned, we are hoping to be able to have our “ultimate road trip” this month. We’ve been so looking forward to it, but something has been hindering us from doing it – a thing that we’ve been waiting for two months now and hasn’t arrived yet. Will share what it is once it gets here. For now, let’s talk about all the things that we shared here on the blog. So here’s the July recap.
FAMILY
July fun kicked off with our 4th of July celebration in downtown Asheville. Celebrating Independence Day in downtown is one thing that I’ll be looking forward to from now on…not only because of the fireworks display, but also because of the funnel cake. Yum!
We had a pool party with the family and it was definitely a fun pool party under the sun – perfect way to beat the summer heat.
Hubby talked about his friendly little critters which we continue to see around the yard on a daily basis. They are just the cutest to watch.
FOOD
We’ve had a lot of blackberry eating this month. We just can’t get enough of ’em…from hubby’s quick blackberry cobbler to the oddly shaped blackberry pancakes that I prepared. Have you tried them yet? Just click on the links for the recipes.
We don’t eat out as much as we would like, but when we do, we always try something new and we make sure to enjoy the food too. We love food! We had a taste of Italian for hubby’s Father’s Day dinner treat and we had Japanese food on the American 4th – for a change. Other than the funnel cake, of course.
Last but not the least, we finally got to sample the goodies from the world’s largest drive-in, The Varsity in Atlanta. Nom!
TRAVEL
Yup, we finally got to go back to Atlanta, Georgia once again for the weekend after four years and got to see our favorite baseball team, the Atlanta Braves play. Woot! Hubby has a lot of memories of Atlanta and he’s so happy to be making new memories with us. Can’t wait to go back!
We may love Atlanta so much, but we do love our beautiful state of North Carolina too. Of course! There’s just a lot of beauty here including Lake Louise in Weaverville, just a short drive from Asheville. Have you been to our state yet? Time to plan a road trip before the summer is over. đŸ˜‰
And that’s a wrap!
How was your July?

You had quite an eventful July! Our July was fairly busy, as well. We had a lot of summer school events, and I attended about 3 conferences.

Looks like a great month of July to me! We have had a very busy month, too. The busier we are, the faster time seems to fly! I would love to visit both GA and NC, but so far they are only on my list of places I would like to go.

I love these recaps! I didn’t do much traveling like I wanted to last month, but it was certainly a busy and adventurous month, nonetheless.

It sounds like you had an amazing July for sure. I would have loved to travel this summer but it looks like we are not going anywhere. We are spending more time with family though because we are having more family BBQs which we all love doing. Thanks for sharing your July recap.
