Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year. And as they say, there’s nothing more magical than Christmastime in New York City. So it has always been my dream to visit the Big Apple at Christmastime. And this year, my dear husband made that dream of mine come true. He made it a goal and I couldn’t be more thankful for him for finally fulfilling that goal. I am so blessed!
We went on the weekend before Christmas and as expected, wherever you look or go is jam-pakced with people. But I don’t have problems with crowds at all and it actually is part of the excitement for me of being in the Big Apple at Christmastime.
So what did we see and what you should see when you visit New York City at Christmastime? Here’s the list.
ROCKEFELLER CENTER
Located on 5th Avenue, the Christmas tree at the Rockefeller Center is without a doubt the center of all the mayhem in New York City at Christmastime. It’s the biggest Christmas tree in the city after all. You couldn’t hardly get a good picture of the tree though without a head popping up in front of your camera. But just be patient and work hard on it and you will get one in time. đŸ˜‰
GIANT CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS ON 6TH AVENUE
I just love these giant red Christmas ball ornaments and giant Christmas lights. They are located right across from the Rockefeller Center building’s 6th Avenue side. As you can see it was 58 degrees C that day so we really got lucky. The temp was just so perfect to walk around New York City; we walked miles and miles.
RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL
The famous Radio City Music Hall is also located on 6th Avenue near the Rockefeller Center and close to where the giant ornaments where. We didn’t watch a show, but we were more than delighted to see their beautiful decor.
CHRISTMAS WINDOW DISPLAYS ON 5TH AVENUE
Saks Fifth is located on 5th Avenue right across from the Rockefeller Center. I can see the Rockefeller Center tree to my left and look to my right where I can see the St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Saks Fifth.
The window displays on Saks Fifth and Lord & Taylor are something that you shouldn’t miss. They were amazing!
THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING
The Empire State Building was all decked out as well. And who won’t love the view of the lobby? It was magnificent!
BRYANT PARK’S WINTER VILLAGE
Bryant Park is located on 6th Avenue, just a few blocks from Radio City Music Hall. We truly enjoyed checking the shops and watching people skate while listening to the Christmas music playing in the background. We could have stayed there for hours. And their tree was gorgeous as well.
NEW YORK PUBLIC LIBRARY
Even the New York Public Library was getting festive too.
It was a truly delightful experience to visit New York City at Christmastime. It was mine and my son’s first time to visit New York City and we sure fell in love with the city just like the hubs fell in love with it the first time he visited the city. That said, that will only be the first and surely won’t be the last time. So until next time, New York City, see ya then!

I adore New York! It’s a dream for me to visit it over the Christmas and New Year period. I think me and the other half will visit, one day, not any time soon! It looks so magical and pretty, I love it. I’ve never seen something more pretty.

This season is also my favorite. NYC streets and buildings look so beautiful and festive with those decorations. I especially like the one on 5th Avenue.
