Happy Monday!
How was your weekend or your entire week last week, for that matter? Our weekend was a bit lazy compared to the week days, but it sure was fun. Continue reading to find out. 🙂
SPRING HAS SPRUNG
It sure feels like spring has sprung when I see my daffodils blooming. Not to mention, we had a lot of spring-like weather this winter. The daffodils usually start sprouting in February and last week, they totally bloomed! It never fails to delight me whenever I see them sprouting already and now I will be enjoying their blooms for the next three weeks or so. If you follow along on Instagram, you have seen these beauties already. I always take a photo of them every year, as if they look different each year. LOL. But I can’t help it.
DR. SEUSS
“I speak for the trees, for the trees have no tongues.” – Dr. Seuss
Thursday was the birthday of Dr. Seuss. I’ve shared this on Instagram as well. My son loved his books when he was little and I love his quotes. They’re just so fun to read.
SPRING SOCCER
We had our first practice on Thursday and we’ll soon have our first soccer game. I’m really glad that our son is loving and enjoying soccer so much. He was on the middle school soccer team last fall and since they don’t have spring soccer in school, he joined the recreational soccer again, conducted by a private organization which he has been joining since he was in 5th grade.
FORTUNE COOKIE
When life gets hectic, we grab us takeout and it’s most of the time Chinese food. We have our favorite Chinese restaurant that we go to close to home. And other than enjoying the food at home last Friday, it’s always fun to know and read what’s written on our fortune cookies. Here’s what was on mine. Gotta love that!
NORTH CAROLINA TAR HEELS
And finally, we are big fans of the NCAA team, the North Carolina Tar Heels, the team where Michael Jordan started. We watched them on TV win against their bitter rivals this past Saturday, the Duke Blue Devils, as they ended their season as champions of the Atlantic Coast Conference, and we couldn’t be any happier. The game between Duke and Carolina is always the last game of the regular season which gives the winner bragging rights on what is known here in North Carolina as Tobacco Row, the 100-mile stretch of Interstate-40 that is home to the four North Carolina teams in the ACC.
What’s more delightful about it was seeing Michael Jordan again. I can’t remember the last time I saw him so I got so excited. I was a big fan of him and the Chicago Bulls back in the 90’s, before I knew a thing about the North Carolina Tar Heels, which I learned all about after coming to the U.S. since my husband has been following them his entire life. And he actually got to see Jordan play during his college career. Jordan was there not only to watch them play, but also to promote his brand. Looks like he hasn’t aged a bit, has he? And that’s what made it a super fun weekend! 🙂
How was the week for you? Hope it was fun!

Our week was pretty uneventful, the usual day to day activities. Although, the weather has been crazy – hot one day, cold the next. It’s wrecking havoc on the garden.

Spring has started a bit early this year because of the funky weather patterns. It has made my allergies go bonkers too.
We never did get a hard freeze so bugs will be bad too.
I love the pretty daffodils.

What fun! Our weekend wasn’t filled with this much excitement as we just moved into a temporary location and we are still trying to find things that we own BUT every weekend is great when we get to spend it together.
