Gumasa Beach in Glan, Sarangani Province, Philippines, is only about an hour drive from my hometown, General Santos City. So after enjoying the beach located west of GenSan at the town of Bawing on our recent summer vacation, we headed east this time for our next beach getaway and this was where we landed.
With its white sand and pristine blue waters, Gumasa Beach is also known as the Boracay of the South. If you don’t know yet, Boracay is a world known island that is consists of world-class resorts. It is located in the province of Aklan in the Western Visayas region north of us.
This resort has cottages that you can rent for the day or even for an overnight stay. Entrance fee is only Php 50.00 or US $1.00 per person. I totally forgot how much it cost us to rent two cottages, but trust me, it’s very affordable as well.
I only use my cellphone in taking these photos and I know that the photos certainly didn’t do justice in taking the breathtaking beauty of this jewel of the south.
My husband enjoying the beach all to himself. Looks like, but not really. 🙂 That was the first time that he had been to Gumasa Beach and he was wowed by the beauty of the beach and was honest enough to tell me that it was way more beautiful than the first beach that we went to. I couldn’t agree with him more.
My son in white at the shore with his cousins!
Having a blast playing with the sand.
My Aunt took this photo of my niece, Restly and nephew, Miqui. Isn’t that cute? They sure had fun doing it.
And here’s a photo that my niece, Restly took using her DSLR. She’s into photography and you can check her Instagram profile here.
If you ever head south in the Philippines on your next trip and you are a beach person, make sure you don’t miss this beach haven and you will surely not regret it.

That is definitely a beautiful beach! I grew up in Florida on the beach. Anytime we travel, if we are near any body of water, it calls my name.

It looks so beautiful and very inviting there. It actually resembles the lake and ocean beaches here in Maine, BUT I’m sure the water is much warmer! 🙂

That looks like such a fun spot to get away to! Love the pictures you shared!

There’s so much to offer in the Islands – when is the heat and humidity the lowest?
Lynndee says
Hi Gabriel. Humidity is at its lowest from December to February. March is the hottest month there.
