There’s something about snow that really delights me. And perhaps not only me. Living in the south, we don’t get that much snow compared to the northern parts of the country so it’s always an excitement whenever we get some.
This past Friday, the forecast showed a possibility of up to 3 inches of snow here in Asheville, North Carolina. They got it wrong and we had 8 inches! The meteorologist was apologetic about it though. There was a change on the weather pattern which caused more inches of snow. But as we know, weather can be unpredictable so for me, there was no apology necessary not to mention, the 8 inches of snow looked a lot better. It was so pretty out there. Well, it is still pretty now although some of it has already melted.
I took this photo on Friday morning and shared it on Instagram. There was already about 5 inches of snow on the ground at this time and the snow still kept on falling. Classes were cancelled so the three of us just stayed inside and watched Christmas movies. Good thing the hubs and I decided to do our grocery shopping the day before. Good decision!
The snow had quit falling by Saturday morning. Hubby and I walked down to the mailbox that afternoon. He didn’t try to drive the car down to there because the road was icy.
The snow on the road had melted, but around it was still a winter wonderland. So yeah, the hubs and I were surely walking in a winter wonderland.
Classes were on a 3-hour delay today and I took this photo when we took our son to school. Isn’t that pretty?
Now I do wonder if we’ll have a white Christmas this year. There’s still 14 days left until Christmas so it is still so early to tell. The only time we had a white Christmas was in 2010 which happened to be mine and my son’s first ever Christmas here in the U.S. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’ll have another white one. 🙂
I think the entire east coast was blanketed with snow over the weekend. How was the weather where you were? Did you get snow this past weekend too?

I saw how much snow do East Coast got over the weekend it was outrages. I have had white Christmases most of my life and I will say as much as I don’t like snow I do love white Christmases. You have some wonderful pictures there.

I totally get the magic of snow. We live in Georgia so snow is rare. When we finally get it, it’s like a Christmas miracle.

It snows regularly where I live but I’ve never lost that feel of magic when the powdery stuff is on the ground. I’ve got my fingers crossed that I’ll get a white Christmas this year.

I’m in England it snowed here as well! We managed to get out and about today but there was so many places still covered. I found a video of someone skiing down one of the bridges over the canal on Facebook in the village – it made me laugh so much!

I’m a fan of looking at snow, and I prefer to not drive in it! I love your pictures! I am a fan of a White Christmas, just enough and not too much, for travel reasons!

I grew up in central Alabama. We received a snowfall almost every year. We moved to Florida when I was 15, and that is something that I miss so much. We may not have received much, just a dusting some years, but it was something. I hope to one day live somewhere where it snows again.

Oh gosh all of your snow photos are gorgeous! I love snow but I’m also glad we don’t get too much in the south, driving in it makes me a nervous wreck!!

Wow, we had a little flurries last weekend but not much compared to yours. Snow hasn’t arrived at my neck of the woods yet, not heavily anyways.

I am loving all of these snow-filled photographs! They’re breathtaking! Where I’m from we get plenty and plenty of snow – I should always look at it with a photo-opp eye rather than getting discouraged!

I imagine you guys don’t get as much snow as we do here in Upstate NY! That being said, we haven’t had much more than a dusting this year. It’s tough, because while I don’t like winter, it do like having some good snow.

I am dreaming of a white Christmas. It was 18degrees here sunday which is insane, we usually have 10 feet of snow by now. It is really not feeling like Christmas yet!

I love all these photos. I’m not a big fan of winter, but I do love the look of it when it snows. It’s just so beautiful! All I ever need is some snow for Christmas and I’ll be happy. Ours seems to be melting quick, so hopefully we’ll get more before Christmas.

Just gorgeous! We got 4 inches here in S Texas which hadn’t happened in 30ish years. It was soo cool that the south witnessed the rarety of what beauty mother nature has.

The snow is so beautiful. We didn’t get any last week when it came through. I kinda would like a white Christmas but at the same time it makes getting places are bit harder.

Your pictures are beautiful! We just got our first major snow of the season last night…while I don’t like shoveling it, it sure does look pretty on the trees!

It seems like it snowed in all kinds of unexpected places last week. Such an exciting time for those who don’t always get to experience snow in their own backyards.

Wow. We haven’t even had that much snow here in Canada where I live. It does look beautiful and magical. I get tired of dealing with it after a while but that first snow is amazing.
