Hello September! It’s the start of the “ber” months and I couldn’t be any more giddy with excitement because first, September is my birth month and second, once it starts, it seems like the Holidays are right around the corner. Actually, back in my home country, Christmas carols are being played on the radio as soon as September starts. Yep, we have the longest celebration of Christmas there. But I can’t do it here just yet because we still have Halloween and then Thanksgiving, but trust me, in my mind, I feel like the Holidays have already begun and I am so happy about the thought because it is definitely my favorite time of the year.
Okay, but before I annoy you all with that notion since Christmas doesn’t start in September in America, let me just give you the recap of July and August.
If you have been following this blog, you are already aware why I have to do one recap for two months. But for those who don’t know, we had to fly to my home country, the Philippines, in late July and come back in mid-August for reasons you will read below so please continue reading.
July
We celebrated America’s 242nd birthday on July the 4th and Hubby created a post about it. Other than that, we also went to downtown Asheville to check the festivities and get me my favorite, funnel cake! Yum!

A Downtown Asheville 4th of July
We went somewhere and tried to explore new cities for our family summer vacation. We’ve already shared a few parts of that wonderful family summer vacation but there’s still more to come so stay tuned.

August
Then we had to plan for that unplanned trip which gave us mixed emotions. Hubby shared a new experience for him when we got back and I shared the main reason for that trip. But although the main reason was sad, we were also happy to be reunited with my family again and we all took the chance to spend quality time with great Filipino food at that.

We still have more to share about our trip to the Philippines, but then, we still have more to share about our wonderful family summer vacation in Georgia.

Finding Fun While Fixing a Problem
But before we finally flew East, the hubs had to make a quick trip to Atlanta to fix a problem. Read that post up top.
And that’s it. Those two months were sure filled with a roller coaster of emotions, but such is life. And we’re here to either feel sulky about it or enjoy it. I always choose the latter.
Happy Labor Day, folks!

Looks like you hit some great spots. I have a fear of bridges and would have to have someone drive me over one that big.
Ruth I says
You had some memorable events and adventures for the past two months. I hope you get to travel more!
