As a parent, nothing is more fulfilling and heartwarming than when you know that your son is not only a good kid, but that he is doing good in school too. I remember when he was in 4th grade, his teacher said that he was not only a smart kid but that he was also a joy to be around and good-natured.
So today, I’m honoring my unico hijo, or only son, on this post. He is now in high school and I can’t help but be a proud Mom because he has not changed other than being a little cranky every now and then especially in the morning when I wake him up. He wants to sleep more, most of the time. Is that a teenager thingy? LOL.
So, anyway, other than his achievements like being on the Honor Roll and being inducted into the National Junior Beta Club in 6th grade, he also has this talent or skill that is worth sharing in my book: his skills in artwork.
Other than this drawing which he made here at home, the two paintings were done in school. The first one in 9th grade, and the one below is a current 10th grade creation.
And I have to quote one alumni who I met when I attended my Alumni Reunion in Virginia in 2011. I call her Ms. Noh and below is her heartwarming comment on this picture when I shared it on Facebook.
“Yogi sure has the stroke. One of my passion is collecting art. He’ll be an excellent artist and amazingly creative! Keep it up Yogi.”
Ms. Noh
The top picture also received comments like he should take up Fine Arts because he sure does have the talent.
He loves drawing and doing this kind of stuff. But it’s really up to him on what he decides to take in college because there are still a lot of things that interests him that he is also good at other than drawing.
I have some of his artwork from way back in his elementary years framed and displayed in his room. And it looks like I have more to have framed.
Proud Mom here! 🙂
