Here we are, two days away from seeing if March will come in like a lion or a lamb. From the looks of the long-term forecast, Mary’s little lamb will greet us with a wee bit of moisture, but no big deal compared to the last week. This past week we were swamped with an absolute deluge of thunderstorms and rain galore. I’d actually began considering the construction of an Ark until I realized that my fixer-upper maintenance abilities included no carpentry skills. But, thankfully, the showers abated and Mr. Sun returned to brighten our days.
We’ve truly had a mild winter here in the mountains of Western North Carolina, with a bit of snow and a few icy days. Still, it’s been nothing compared to the usual. Considering the weather the country has faced all the way from California, across the entire expanse of the Great Plains, and the northeastern and New England states, our winter hasn’t truly existed. This is supposedly due to the El Niño weather phenomenon tied in with the jet stream staying high across the country, keeping the northern cold from advancing southward. That works for me seeing that I’m such a hot-weather lover.
However, even with the rains gone and warm days ahead for the next few days, the forecast is calling for a possible wintry mix beginning early next week. So March may come in as a lamb, with the lion waiting to pounce in ambush, making us wait a little longer for the warmth of spring.
And am I ever ready for that warmth. I’ve got so much yard work to do, Lynndee is ready to attack her flower garden, and I’m raring to get on the golf course and work on lowering my handicap. As for Lynndee’s flowers, though, some have already sprouted. They’ve actually been sprouting for over forty years, having been planted by my sister-in-law back in the day her and my brother lived on this property. Just last year, I spruced up the bed they were in, building a rock wall around them with rocks my grandfather had hoarded years ago. So, thanks for those rocks, Papaw; I finally found a use for them.
Spring will soon arrive, though not soon enough to suit me. But as for the moment, I’m going to have to be patient. So I’ll be a good boy with visions of birdies in my eyes, and not those springtime flying birdies but the low-score golf birdies…(“,)

Oh no! haha. It’s not easy to wait when you are excited about it! My parents moved to Canada just this February and they really want it to be done.

We are still under snow and ice here. We cannot wait til spring. She is a tease though, every year!

I’m not sure if I am ready for Spring or not. Usually I am, but this year we didn’t get the big snow I was wanting.
Kimberly Croisant says
Oh, I had these come up in my garden last week, but since today it’s 30 degrees, I’m not sure they are alive.

I am super excited about Spring coming soon. Here in Iowa I won’t believe it until I see it for myself and even then I may expect some snow. We have had so much snow this year that I can not wait to see some grass again!

We live in South Carolina and our weather down here is acting like it’s filming a boomarang for Instagram. One day it i’ll be summer with 80 degree temps and sunshine and the very next day it’ll be winter again with 40 degree temps and rain. I’m ready for all the pretty flowers and nice temps!
