The grass is getting greener, buds are showing up in trees and our daffodils are blooming. There’s no denying it, spring is right around the corner. And I couldn’t be more excited. I think you can tell in this post how excited I am because I am already thinking about fun things to do in spring.
Spring Cleaning
Cleaning can be tiring, but believe it or not, this is one thing that we look forward to doing every year. I’ve already started cleaning the closets, but we have yet to start cleaning the yard. We’re just waiting for the warm temps and off we go to rake and pick those leaves up.
Plant a Flower Garden
I already have a flower garden, but I’m planning to transplant some of my hydrangeas from the backyard to the front yard. If you have no flower garden yet, spring is a good time to start.
Visit a Botanical Garden
We’re lucky we have one here in the city, the Botanical Gardens at Asheville, and it is located so close to where we live. We’ve visited it in the past and would love to visit it again.
Search for Murals in Your City
Asheville is home to amazing murals all around town. There’s the Good Vibes murals and the River Arts District murals.
Visit a Museum
If you love history, just like us, visiting a museum is always fun. We have an Antique Car Museum here as well as a Homespun Museum.
Walk on the Lake
It’s always fun to take a walk on a gorgeous spring day, much more at the lake where you also enjoy the beauty of the water. And if you’re lucky, you get to watch a bunch of geese enjoying the lake too which usually happens when we visit Lake Louise.
Play Golf
Hubby’s been itching for a warmer temp so he can play golf. Well, spring is right around the corner so he’s excited.
Visit a Greenhouse
Whether you want to shop for plants or just to look, visiting a greenhouse is always fun especially for plant lovers, like me. Check my tips and tricks on how to make the most of your greenhouse visit.
Go on a Road Trip
We don’t usually go somewhere on spring break because we always save for our family summer vacation. But you can always go and have a day trip to a town near you. You can visit Asheville, if you like. Spring in Asheville is beautiful!
Plan a Summer Vacation
I always love planning for our family summer vacation. We haven’t decided yet on where to go, but one thing is for certain, it will be a new place, somewhere that we haven’t been to yet. And vacation doesn’t have to be expensive. Here’s my tips for planning a budget-friendly family vacation.
How about you? Anything you can add here?

I love visiting greenhouses this time of year to check out all the pretty plants and flowers to add to my garden. Looks like we have one more tiny cold snap this week in SC and then it’s smooth sailing into spring. I’m so happy!

These are some fun ideas. I love visiting gardens since I can’t grow stuff. I also need to spring clean.

I am all about doing a road trip! I love going on road trips just about anywhere. I would not say cleaning is fun for me but I do need to purge my house of all sorts of stuff so I think that will happen pretty soon.

I want to plant this spring and hopefully keep it alive. That is a main goal for this spring. I also want to take a road trip

These are definitely some nice ideas for spring. A walk through a botanical garden or by a lake is a great way to enjoy nature and just find that tranquility we all seek.

Botanical Gardens can be so much fun. They’re just gorgeous to look at and my favorite is when you’re lucky enough to see some hummingbirds.
Our old house had the most beautiful hydragean bush that was huge and full of bright purple/blue petals.
We were walloped with 7 to 8 inches of snow last night/this morning, so spring can’t come soon enough!
