It was only yesterday that I’ve heard of International Day of Happiness. As per Wikipedia, it is celebrated worldwide every March 20. And since today is also the First Day of Spring which certainly makes me the happiest ever, I have decided that this day of happiness definitely is worthy of a post here in our little space on the internet.
Happy First Day of Spring
I have shared the 15 things I love about spring here before. And one of the many things that makes me happy is my flower garden. Some of my flowers bloom in the spring, some in the summer and some in the fall. I totally planned it like that so I have flowers to see and enjoy almost the whole year through.
I’ve already shared the flowers in my garden in the past, but I’m sharing them all again today just in case you missed them and you might want to check them out.
Spring Blooms
My daffodils are the first to bloom. They show their beauty as early as the last week of February and they bloom more than three weeks up to a month. Then next is my periwinkle. I have planted them on the bank and they spread so quick.
Then next to bloom are my lavender and pink phlox followed by my red, white and pink azaleas. I also have irises and tiger lilies, but I figured that I haven’t shared them here yet. Hopefully, I get to share those beauties here soon.

Summer Blooms
I just love the flowers of hydrangeas. They’re not only beautiful, they are also huge. I also have a white hydrangea that have not been shared here so hopefully, I get to share that one here soon too. I also have some black-eyed susans.
The Beautiful Blue Blooms of Hydrangeas
There are different varieties of hosta and I have this one. They use to be planted in front of the house, but they didn’t bloom good there so I moved them to the back, and they were showing off from then on.

Fall Blooms
For fall, I have a Rose of Sharon as well as a Butterfly Bush. Our area is so shady that these two don’t bloom as much as they should. I’m thinking about replanting them so we’ll see about that.
So there you go, all the flowers that make me happy. Needless to say, this is the perfect post for me to celebrate the first day of spring as well as to celebrate the International Day of Happiness. 🙂
Happy First Day of Spring, y’all and enjoy the International Day of Happiness!
